We waited several months after this place opened before we ate here. The old restaurant in this location had been run-down for years and we were hoping for an Chinese-Thai-Asian Restaurant that would be an improvement. Unfortunately, not so much at Zhang's. I've rarely seen more than a couple of cars in their parking lot and that should have been a hint. It is nicely decorated with plenty of seating. We had an early dinner and the restaurant had only one other table occupied. I started with Egg Drop - Wonton soup and that tasted good and was warm. The waiter seemed a bit confused and finally got all of the soups and salads to the people in our group although it took several trips to get it right. My wife said her Miso soup was not warm and she didn't like her salad. I had the House Combination (Shrimp, scallop, chicken, pork & mixed vegs. w. specialties sauce) with brown rice and thought that it tasted good and seemed fresh. My wife and a friend at the table both had Chicken Teriyaki and both complained that the chicken was fatty and chewy. It came with some sauteed onions, but the menu describes it with vegetables. It seemed kind of skimpy for the cost. The server had to go back twice to get all of the food for our group of six, so it took 5-10 minutes from the time that first plate was served until the last was set-down at the table. I was one of the first, but held-off eating and my food was getting cold by the time the last plate was served. There is a very wide selection of food, from Chinese, to Thai, to Asian, to Sushi. If the whole experience was better, I would go back to try other things, but I didn't enjoy this enough to go back. Prices were not inexpensive for what it is. The place has a full bar.
She likes she sushi. I had another dish teriyaki chicken. Service needs a little improvement. Not so happy with the teriyaki. Pictures do not match meal. Otherwise I guess ok.

First time here, in addition to the dining room they have an outdoor deck with a bay view. Friendly and professional servers, broad menu from sushi to Chinese and Asian fusion. I had the Asian grilled salmon, one of the pricier options, which was excellent. Our medium size group averaged about $20/ person + tip, very reasonable. No beer or wine, but you can probably bring your own. Some parking in back, plus the free municipal parking lot.
Sushi here is always very fresh- and very straightforward. Chef David is a master of cutting and the fish is always delicious. Also, kitchen specials are amazing as well. They make many special rolls and their sushi pizza is heaven. If you love great sushi and a warm atmosphere, with fair prices, Osho is a place you must get to.

We felt like takeout this night, so we opted for Japanese food. We order a mixture of items: avocado salads (it was larger than other area restaurants), gyoza pork dumplings, two tempuras (shrimp and vegetables lightly batter fried). A Chilean sea bass appetizer. A large vegetable lo mein and a large shrimp meshi, fried rice for the three of us to share. The food was delicious, nothing amazing but atypical for the area I live in. We'll likely go back when we get a hankering for Japanese food.

We enjoyed Sunday dinner with our friends at this lovely Pan-Asian restaurant. Decorations and cleanliness are top drawer. Host and wait staff were excellent, courteous and attentive. I enjoyed three different Sushi rolls and also tasted some Shrimp and Vegetable Tempura. My meal came with a small salad and Miso Soup. Everything I had tasted delicious. I also ordered a side of the Spicy Mayo (excellent - don't miss it).Quantities are plentiful and the food is fresh and well prepared. The menu has Sushi, Sashimi, Tempura, Teriyaki, Thai Curry, Hibachi, Noodles and Rice dishes. Two at our table had the Noodle Soup Entrees that came with large noodle soup and an equally large portion of tempura (shrimp and veges). The restaurant is a BYOB.I highly recommend this restaurant for it's authentic and tasty food and great service.

Mom and Dad frequented Sono up until his passing in 2006. I picked up that place for him from 2007 through 2013. In the past five years, every time I leave Western New York to see mom (without kids), we go to Sono. Same ownership and generally a consistent, high quality product. This time, I had Miso soup (there's is the best anywhere), Beef Negimaki appetizer and three Salmon based sushi rolls (Philly and spicy were my favorites). The only drawback was the beef was a little dry, yet very flavorful. As long as mom is in Middletown, I will promise you that Sono will be our top choice for dining out.
