First class premium sushi restaurant with sustainable produce and full bar.
Happy Kitchen has been serving the best sushi in Karlstad for some years now (there are probabably a total of 3 sushi places in Karlstad now, give or take a restaurant closure). Happy Kitchen's sushi is a little different, with a few interesting taste sensations to interest the palette. Go with time to spare - the service can take a while, and in the evenings there is a roaring takeaway trade which can also slow down the service. But overall very nice, with sides like seaweed salad and edamame beans which are always nice and not always routine in Swedish sushi establishments!

We were on holiday and decided to have our last vacation dinner at Yomo. We went with the 'entire Asia' menu, and definitely recommend it! Delicious foods in just the right amounts, great entourage and very friendly staff.

Kinoko Ramen by Madam Kong signature Ramen dishes with the special recipe, most order Bibimpap and others Signature Asian Hot Wok cook are the MUST TRY dishes when you visit in Karlstad.
This is actually two smaller restaurant - one with sushi, the other with Chinese, Japanese and Korean warm food. Same owner, but two separate entrances. I recommend the restaurant with warm food. It is small, intimate and cosy, and the food is really good. They have a good assortment of vegetarian dishes. As it is close to Karlstad's cinema, it can be combined with a movie. Very friendly service!
Since we were shopping in the area, we were looking for a decent place to eat and stumbled across Zao Street Kitchen. The menu looked very appetizing, so we decided to try it out.Since there were 7 of us, we all decided to order different dishes so we could experience the full gamut Zao had to offer. I went with Bibimbap while the others had Bangkok Style, Mayo Goma, Namboo Salad, Kaosoi, Pork Siu, Bulgogi and Tendon. In less than 10 minutes, the food was brought out and we dug in.First off, the portion sizes were a lot larger than I had expected. Second, the flavors were amazing! It was easy to tell this was an authentic restaurant because none of the dishes were over flavored and each dish had the perfect blend of spice, meat and vegetable. It was honestly very hard to pick a favorite dish because they were all sooooo good! Now it's easy to see why there was a line of people waiting to order. I will definitely be back again because very few restaurants can prepare Bibimbap correctly, and Zao Street Kitchen nailed it perfectly!
