I was wanting sushi so I decided to place a take out order. I would rather pick up pre-made sushi from Sam's Club than order here again. I can't even finish it. Very disappointed. I should have saved my money and ate home.

Nice restaurant with hot and fresh pasta. Took the family for lunch and had a good time. Food was tasty and abundant, facility was clean and staff friendly

I will start by saying I'm not a sushi connoisseur, but I enjoyed the fresh flavours at Yama. Service was friendly and attentive, room was cool and relaxed, overall feel was welcoming. I ordered two rolls and the waiter brought an extra one "with our compliments", which was a nice touch.

Located in a small strip shopping center off the main highway, the outside was not too impressive. Inside, the restaurant was spacious and had a contemporary Asian feel. There is a large sushi bar in one corner and multiple TV's on the bar side. The more open dining room included booths and tables. There was space for a lot more tables. The space was pretty quiet since it was a weeknight and not too crowded. They specialize in Japanese and Chinese food and do both really well. My companion started with a saka-based cocktail which she enjoyed but ordered from the Chinese side of the menu and went for her favorite Sesame Chicken. She knows good Sesame Chicken when she tastes it and this one was one of the best. She was not prepared for the gourmet presentation--it was the best you will see anywhere. Very, very artistic.I went for the Sushi Dinner with a Kirin which was on tap. The sushi plate was proceeded by a very small lettuce-based salad and miso soup. The soup was as good as I have had--just the right amount of miso, seaweed, cubed tofu and chopped green onions. The appearance of the soup and salad was nothing fancy which made the clean simple sushi plate presentation especially impressive. Two each of five pieces of sushi--yellowfin, salmon, tuna, sea bass and red snapper--were arranged radially around the perimeter of an over-sized white plate with the California roll in the center. Natural pickled ginger and wasabi paste were joined by an edible orchid--at least I hope it was edible. The service and friendliness of the staff was excellent. The wait staff takes the team approach to service--which I like--so there was always someone to take orders, serve food, clear tables and bring the check. They have happy hour specials which we look forward to checking out.

This is a great hibachi/sushi restaurant. My biggest complaint is that the sushi service can be very slow depending how busy it is. They have half priced sushi Mon-Fri all night long which is a fabulous deal. They also have good happy hour drink specials.

My husband loves sushi. I don't. This restaurant is perfect for us. It has great sushi and great Chinese food. The service is excellent. The food is fantastic. It is obvious that they have a regular clientele and they often greet customers by name. The atmosphere is nice, comfortable and very clean. The service is very attentive.Portions are generous. I highly recommend this Szechuan Cafe.
