They have live performance which was pretty good. Food was alright. I have to give extra points for the effort of letting the food cook and maintain heat using burning fire. The pork was nice.
we ordered a la carte and choose the meat as we go along. The wagyu was very soft and melt in the mouth. we also ordered thick steak, and was delicious. The seaweed rice was also delightful
We were on our way back from Nagano Prefecture to Tokyo. We had had enough soba and wanted to have something different. We fancied fried pork cutlets (tonkatsu), looked at the reviews and chose this restaurant on major national route 20. It was close to 1 pm but there were already some guests waiting. Looking at their menu it appeared the dishes were on the expensive side, but we decided to stick to our original choice as it was over 37 degrees and we lacked the energy to try anywhere else. It turned out that we had made a good choice. They have a regular menu and a seasonal menu. The seasonal feature was deep fried horse mackerel (aji fry) to be combined with various tonkatsu. I ordered the aji fry and pork loin tonkatsu (rohsu katsu) from the seasonal menu priced at 1,480 yen before tax, and my wife pork fillet tonkatsu and fried vegetables (avogado, mini-tomato, meat wrapped asparagus) priced at 1,280 yen before tax. The dishes are accompanied with your choice of seaweed miso soup or miso pork soup (tonjiru) and eat as much as you like sliced cabbage. The tonkatsu was one of the best I've had recently. It was in the middle of obon week and the restaurant seemed understaffed with so many guests.

We passed by on our way to Tokyo. Great Japanese food in a traditional restaurant you sit on pillows on mats. We were the only Westerners. It's easy to order as they have an English translation and also pictures of the food. The noodles are super delicious. Great place for vegetarians, but also very good for people who love meat and seafood. Highly recommended!
