Specializing in Japanese small plates, old school cocktails and whiskey bar but thank goodness no sushi. The theme is based on a Japanese tavern or sake house. sake
"Where East meets Country and Western" is their tagline, and yes they play classic country like Johnny Cash etc. This is my favorite restaurant in Eugene at the moment, a tightly-run ship with excellent service and a wide-ranging small plates menu to die for. Things I dream of: the curry udon is my #1 (fat udon noodles and thick beef broth with chunks of meat), but other things like the spinach goma ae, sauteed collard greens and hot garlic shrimp keep me coming back again and again. The Whitaker neighborhood (The Whit) is full of good restaurants and breweries to explore.
