We used to have to travel about 40 minutes to find a good sushi restaurant. Now, its just minutes away. They have quite a selection on their menu, however i go for the sushi. The rolls are plentiful in their selection, and well prepared. The service is good as a rule, wait staff are cheerful and attentive. And the rolls are good! We have been a few times, and we'll go back. Mmmmm...

Anyone from the area knows 532 turns into gridlock during peak times. but, don't let that deter you from coming here. Their sushi menu is limited but that is not really a bad thing. they have wok menu items from all across Asia, so anyone can get their fill. pricing was very good. I took my kids there and we all had a spicy tuna roll, some noodles, and split the teriyaki chicken and honey garlic chicken lunch wok combo. was really good. they have self serve miso soup which I appreciated. plenty of places to sit and has a tv.

Have driven by this for a couple years and never stopped. Glad I did. Their spicy sauce is awesome. Not real spicy but full of flavor. Great menu. Will try a bento box next time, they advertise short ribs, which is a favorite of mine.

I rarely give a restaurant 5 stars, Hanazono deserves evey one. Simply wonderfully prepared, presented, quality food. Salads are usually a restaurant profit engine, and usually disappoint. Our Sashimi Salad here has nice cuts of sashimi, and a beautiful assortment of greens. The Tan Ran Ramen was the best I've had outside of Japan, and the Champon, rare even in the growing number of Ramen shops where we live in the Seattle area, was super flavorful. The Baked Pear on Ice Cream with Caramel Sauce was also exquisite. It's a long trek to Port Townsend for us, but we'll be back to dine with Kaori-San and her attentive crew at Hanazono again and again!

We had not visited this restaurant since the change in ownership, but were pleasantly surprised. The service was super-attentive, and the atmosphere very welcoming. I very much enjoyed the bento box, which came with a delightful selection of dishes: all texturally different, but all delicious and enough to share. My husband was a little disappointed in his entree scallops, which arrived on an plank with an accompanying bowl of rice. Not what he expected for an entree, but maybe he just misunderstood the menu. We will certainly be returning to this conveniently-located local spot.
