Find out what Japanese restaurants to try in Aalborg. If Aalborg were a house, the real estate agent would sell it as "loaded with potential." The 1,000-year-old city is Denmark’s fourth largest, and boasts a Viking past, over 300 restaurants, a casino, lively nightlife and great shopping. The zoo breeds rare Siberian Tigers, and the Waterland and Tivoliland make it a great place for families to visit. Aalborg isn’t a hotspot for foreigners, yet. But we’ll watch as the waterfront of this busy port continues to gentrify, with expectations it will be one in the future.

Had dinner with a group of colleagues while on business in Aalborg. Everyone really enjoyed the flavors and the service at the restaurant.Fusion is a modern restaurant in a new building by the harbor canal in Aalborg. The menu is interesting; bringing together Asian, especially Japanese, cuisine and Scandinavian cooking. We had a fixed menu with appetizer sushi selection, beef and desserts. The flavors were very good, especially some of the sushi dishes and the beef. The wine served with the dishes was great - well chosen for balance and matching the food.Service and presentation were very good as well, adding to the enjoyment.Would very happily dine there again.

Karma Sushi is a chain of sushi restaurants in Denmark with high quality fusion sushi. Karma Sushi is located in Copenhagen, Aarhus, Aalborg and Frederikshavn.
I visited Karma Sushi on a rainy Wednesday evening and it was most definitely worth braving the weather for. We ordered some edamame for starters. There was a wait between our starters and main course coming out, but we were given a complimentary dish to keep us going. That was a nice touch from the kitchen I felt. When the mains did arrive, they were so worth it. Photos donât do justice to how amazing the food looked. And it tasted even better - we went for the Roll Premium Selection and it was divine.Service was very friendly, though we did struggle to catch someoneâs eye at times when we wanted to order more drinks.I loved the decor - from the matching plates, cups and serving dishes, to the origami decorations hanging from the ceiling above us, it all made for a lovely atmosphere. My only slight criticism is the menu - not the items on it, but the actual physical menu! They give you iPads to read the menu from, instead of traditional paper/card menus. You donât order via the iPad or anything special. It seems quite pointless and a waste of resources, as youâre basically looking at a PDF of the menu on an iPad as opposed to a piece of paper. Hi D2271HHlouisefThank you taking the time to make this kind and thorough review of your evening at our restaurant. We are really happy to hear how thrilled you were over the sushi. Hopefully, you will come and visit us again soon.Have a nice day. Best regards.Frederik, Karma Sushi

The concept of Suzumi differs from the countless of sushi buffets readily available in Aalborg. At Suzumi you get a menu, then you write down what sushi you want to eat, and it is served in small bundles, but the staff inform you about that. There is no sushi sitting out in a buffet waiting to be picked here. Instead, the chefs prepare your serving custom to what you just ordered, and it is brought to you on a wooden board, which adds to the authenticity of the Japanese dining experience. So the sushi you get here is made to your order, which is just fabulous. Sure, you have to wait a bit for your order to be prepared and brought to you. But believe me, the wait is worth it.Why? Because the sushi is delicious, tasty and the serving on the wooden plate is just fabulous.I was genuinely and wholeheartedly surprised with the concept here the first time I went there, which was for my wife and mine 10 year wedding anniversary. And we both left there with bellies full, a great dining experience richer and with an overall good impression of the restaurant - including staff, environment, food, hygiene, etc.If you like sushi and find yourself in Aalborg, then don't skip out on trying this exquisite experience.Thumbs up from me. Way, way up.
