I visited this Icecream shop with my family. It looked good but unfortunately we did not really get to try it. The waiter hardly speaks English and rather than trying to understand what we were trying to order, she was rushing us to finish our order, then gave us the wrong orders. I tried to talk to her as I was paying the bill but it didnât seem to matter to her that we did not get the right orders. We left our table without having our treats.

The Mr and I arrived in Gengenbach shattered from jet lag and the extreme heat the area was experiencing. After a 2 hour nap we awoke refreshed and hungry. We went for a wander and in search of food. We happened upon Rialto Pizzeria. Despite a menu in German (which we could not read) we had an excellent meal thanks to the patient help of Charlotte our server. We started with a carafe of house red wine and a very refreshing salad. After that we shared a salami and mushroom pizza and finished rage meal with a delicious tiramisu. Had lovely, well priced gelato as a takeaway on Thursday evening so went back for milkshakes on Saturday but made the mistake of sitting in. Over priced ice cream sundaes, tasteless milkshakes and terrible service! Definitely one for take away only!?

The best Italian food outside of Italy, Maria and her staff are wonderful and very attentive. The ambience is light and refreshing. Crystal glasses on the all of the tables and Roman columns around the room. Food presentation that you eat with you eyes first and then the delicious el dente pasta with sauce. I had the spaghetti, shrimp and aubergine pasta, friends had bolognese and a pizza, all were very tasty. A time to practise your Italian, mange bene, viva bene!

Der vordere Gastraum ist dunkel, altmodisch eingerichtet und völlig abgewohnt - hier müsste dringend renoviert werden. Der hintere Gastraum inkl. Terrasse ist relativ neu, aber auÃer einem Fernseher gibt es hier keine Deko. Alles etwas lieblos. Die Toiletten sind auch neu gemacht, sehr schön, keine Beanstandungen.Der Service war (trotz fast leerem Restaurant) langsam und wirkte nicht sonderlich motiviert. Relativ lange Wartezeit.Meine Pizza war jedoch sehr gut. Knuspriger Rand, dünner Boden, guter Belag, sehr lecker. Ich habe schon bessere gegessen, aber auch schon viele sehr viel schlechtere. Preis/Leistungsverhältnis ist in Ordnung.Wer hier keine Nobelküche erwartet, bekommt hier guten Durchschnitt: eine ganz normale, ordentliche Pizzeria.

On Tripadvisor this place has a great rating. As a half-Italian family, we had great expectations. Unfortunately, the food did not deliver: the food is catered for the local taste. In this case: nearly all pastas seemed to contain creme. The truffle pasta had little taste and the prawns were small and overcooked. Maybe the chef had an offday? (Staff was friendly though and the food cheap.)
