Reviews on Italian food in Venice, Province of Venice, Italy. For centuries Venice has been defined by its otherworldly presence. Divided into six sestieri (districts), the city is split by the Grand Canal, snaking through Venice in a backwards “S” formation. Water here is a means of communication, connecting its parts as well as opening the city to the outside world. People move themselves and cargo by foot and boats of all types. A city of great contrasts, the strength and beauty of Venice are perpetually challenged by its great fragility – constant study, repair, resourcefulness, and vigilance maintain a very delicate balance here.

Al Squero is the only Osteria in Venice exactly in front of the Ancient Squero of San Trovaso. There is no other place where appreciating from its window the construction or restoration of original Venetian gondolas. It is a cozy and comfortable place whe
All the positive Reviews of the Osteria Al Squero are true! Located alongside a small canal behind the Accademia; situated opposite an interesting Gondola building/repair yard and serving some of the tastiest Cicchetti in Venice. The staff are competent, friendly and patient with their constant stream of multilingual clients and they take time to explain what is on show in the glass cabinets. It can get very busy but if all the seats inside are taken, it is as pleasant to partake of the refreshments outside. We ALWAYS make our way to Al Squero for at least one lunch when we are in Venice. It is reasonably priced with interesting snacks and tasty house wines - though there's a wider selection for customers with a more refined palate.

This place is really the only eatery in the vicinity of the Santa Maria basilica in Dorsoduro. With a bit of a monopoly, you might not expect such quality, but the proposition is fab - super fresh sandwiches with top ingredients and great bread + made to order and freshly squeezed juices. My apple, pear and lemon juice was super. It is very popular and we waited a good 20 minutes to be served, even though the poor guy behind the counter was operating at super-human pace. More staff required!

Highly deserves its fine rating in TripAdvisor. Staff was wonderful, especially Gigi. We started with the cheese platter, then my wife had the vegetable soup and I had the lasagna and all of it was extremely delicious and fresh. Will come back again.

This spot was absolutely delicious for a light lunch! They had an excellent Italian beer on tap. We shared the meat and cheese plate that came with three different types of meat and three different types of cheese and a pepperoni jam! Everything on that plate was excellent. A great stop for lunch!

We were on our way to one of our favorite non-tourist restaurants in Venice, Bacarretto Bistrot il Siciiano on a Sunday evening. Marco's was closed for inventory so we tried the newly relocated Al Grill a few feet away. It was a wonderful surprise. The small bistro specializes in high quality grilled meat, especially beef. We weren't very hungry so split perfectly grilled lamb chops, grilled veggies, zucchini with mint (really great) and a lovely large salad with soft fresh mozzarella cheese. Owners brought us some little bonus goodies and chatted. Didn't have room for dessert but will go back next time. Service was personal, excellent, timely. Very highly recommended. I would just alternate restaurants by walking across the street between Bacarretto and Al Grill, both on Santa Croce on a little corner in the heart of non-tourist Venice.

Simply perfect. Ate from the main menu, had the cod, ravioli and lamb - all delicious. Service is impeccable. Very attentive. Restaurant is inside a hotel, which is very nice. Perfect for a romantic meal in Venice! Wide selection of wines. Fair prices for the food and experience. Would, would, would recommend! Dear ksanford21, Reviews like yours make our day, thank you very much. We're pleased to see the menu appreciated so much, as well as the wines, the romantic atmosphere, the service and the whole culinary experience. Hidden from the busiest touristic routes of Venice, a restaurant with bar for traditional "cicheti" and "aperitivo" in a beautiful green and quite location. Come find us for a spritz, a glass of good wine, the artisanal beer and the modern and dynamic foo
Starting from the phenomenal service, me and my brother really enjoyed the starters (we had the smoked burrata with an aubergine pesto) and though our main wasnât bad (we had the pasta with pistacchio pesto and something else I canât quite remember) see? not bad but not very memorable... also the tiramisù and carrot cake were very good too!! Definitely worth a visit!

Cucina tipica Veneziana, piatti di pesce e discreta selezione di carne e piatti vegetariani.
We are in Venice for my wifeâs birthday and we went to this restaurant on Monday night. They sat us at a table without a reservation at the place was empty. Only one other couple that we saw. The waiter brought over some breadsticks and put about a quarter glass of champagne in each of our glasses and walked away. He was gone for over 10 minutes. When he came back he asked us if we are ready to order. We had many questions as weâve not been to this restaurant before. We asked about the spaghetti and lobster, He said no, weâre out of that. The weather is very short with us. Actually rude. It gets better from there. We told him we would like a bowl of the minestrone soup but needed more time to look at the menu and he walked away. Another 10 minutes go by and we had been eating the stale bread sticks and thereâs crumbs all over the table. When he finally came back I asked for a couple of plates maybe Some oil and balsamic. He turns around and looks at me and said youâll get plates when I bring the soup! And he walked away. My wifeâs chin hit the floor before she blurted out âWhat an ass.â The couple at the table next to us overheard that and turned around and said he sure is! So we knew it wasnât just us. He came back with a bowl of minestrone soup and two plates and two spoons. Then he walked away. We looked at each other and try to figure out how weâre going to share the soup with two plates. You have a couple started laughing as they couldnât believe it either. The plates werenât level because theyâre sitting on the crumbs and pieces of stale breadsticks. So each took a spoon and started spooning minestrone from the center of the table across the plates and into our mouths. At this point I was ready to leave but we are trying to have a romantic dinner as were celebrating her birthday. Hoping it would only get better we actually ordered dinner. When the dinner came out my steak was cold and trying to cut through it with a serrated knife was like chopping wood. The meat was veiny and tough. Being brave I actually tasted it, and it was horrible and very undercooked as I asked for medium. The other dish wasnât much better but because we had been waiting so long to eat she actually ate it instead of starving. It wasnât warm either. When The waiter finally came back I told my wasnât happy with the meat and it was undercooked. He took it back the manager brought it back. Apologized for the preparation. I tasted it it was still horrible although it was warm this time. That didnât make it any better. The other couple got up and left. We told the manager we were done, we had enough, did want to try anything else. The waiter was rude, the food was horrible, I want to pay my bill and go. Save yourself some trouble, never ever try this restaurant when in Venice. It is the worst restaurant Iâve ever been to in my entire life.Good morning, when a criticism is well constructed we take it into consideration, when as in this case everything is wrong, from the quality of the food and the service, we understand the situation and go further, for us speak of the other 1000 reviews of customers satisfied by the kindness of the waiters and food quality.
