Things to do in Turlock
Every time I'm in Turlock for a night at a hotel I make it a point to stop by here. Located inside the rear of the gas station mini mart, the to go restaurant specializes in made to order pizza, tacos, tri-tip sandwiches, Philly cheesesteak sandwiches, burgers, and more. I've uploaded a few pics of the menu. I highly recommend the bacon cheese fries with whatever you order. Love the tacos and burgers. Excellent quality food all around. There are a few tables if you choose to sit and eat inside. This place is open until 10pm however the mini mart is open 24 hours. Just is just right outside the Days Inn motel and Comfort Suites Hotel. Highly recommended to travelers and families wanting a better fast food option for about the same price.
We tried the lunch buffet. The salad bar was fairly nice one with ample choices. The pizza was average. When we arrived fairly empty selections on pizza. However, several fresh, hot pizzas were out in about 10 minutes. The price is ok since it includes a soda as well as salad and pizza. The atmosphere was fine. The could improve the experience by more pizza options and better plates. For the pizza you receive the cheapest paper plate available.
It's a close contest between Jura's and Mountain Mikes but for the best in Turlock I'll have to vote for Mountain Mikes. Using the weekly cupons we get in the mail the cost is considerbly less than Jura's too. If you like a cracker crust go with Jura's and if you like a bit of a softer crust go to Mountain Mikes.
Red Brick offers Certified Angus Beef. Delicious pasta, seafood, and Chicken. Food made from scratch. Great customer service. Enjoy the food and service every visit!Downtown Turlock location!

Traveling home from a business trip, I looked up Indian food along HWY 99. Punjab Express is unassuming and quaint. The food is fantastic. I ordered Chicken Makhani and Garlic Naan and couldn't have been happier. Truly delicious. They even threw in rice at no charge. The chef even came out and made rounds, asking if everyone enjoyed their food. Very hospitable place. Hoping to make it back sooner than later.

Had not been to Vito's for a couple of years as we do not go to Turlock as much as we have in the past. When thinking about a place to dine, Vito's came back to mind and it was just wonderful. First, extremely friendly, being greeted by several employees after just entering the front door. We were seated quickly by a friendly hostess. Then drink orders (soft drink & water, in our case). Then the bread came that is rich in flavor and seemingly unlimited. They have a "two for" menu that we enjoyed, including an appetizer (or dessert), salads & six or so entrees to chose from. I had lasagna that was incredible & my wife had another choice (pesto sauce on some lovely pasta). BUT I started with some clam chowder (I highly recommend their New England clam chowder!!! AND I am a chowder snob!). There was multiple people waiting on us, keeping our glasses full & keeping any need met. Add a unique atmosphere with lovely wall paintings along with their rather incredible menu options (plus wine choices if you so desire) and this is a great place to spend time with those you love and enjoy. Started going to Vito's ten years ago and will be back sooner than later.

It had been years since I had eaten at an Olive Garden so I took my niece during my visit. The staff were wonderful and let us make up a drink and they mixed it for us. Ginger beer and Pinot Grigio wine. It was excellent. The food was excellent and we had a long quiet lunch .

My fiance and I spent a date night here a few weeks ago. We just so happened to stop in on half-off bottle of wine night! We picked out something fancy and drank the whole bottle!! My fiance LOVED his meal. I believe it was crab ravioli. I wasn't a fan of what I ordered, but that is completely on me, because I misunderstood the description. We plan to book reservations for Valentines Day because he will not stop asking to go back!

Recently visited to celebrate a family birthday and was so impressed with the service. Not always this good in the past, Toscanaâs has really stepped up their game. The entire staff was great making sure we had everything we needed. Our server Kirsten, though was simply delightful. She was so friendly, pleasant to chat with and made our night extra special and enjoyable. It was the first visit for my husband and mother-in-law, and they were so impressed with everything. The food too was much improved from my previous visits.Kudos to Toscanaâs for the improvements and much gratitude to Kirsten for making a special day that much more enjoyable for our party!

The evening started out with a waitress apparently in training. Pouring the wine from a bottle without drips and spills all over the table and place settings presented a challenge to her. Seasoned waitress to the rescue who proceeds to conduct a 'training ' session at our table completely ignoring the fact that it was interrupting a business conversation. Time to order the hors d'oeuvres and the main selections. Please get us the meatball trio for a starter and I will have the lasagna with a side of sausage. Please cook the Italian sausage whole and put no sauce on them. In a few minutes out comes the main meal and the starter meatball trio all at the same time. Meatball trio....hard little globs of meat on a plate with one covered in maranara sauce, another tough-to-cut meatball with pesto sauce and the third thrown on the plate covered with what appears to be Alfredo sauce. No separation of the sauces, just hard-as-rock meatballs thrown on a plate and covered with 3 different tasteless sauces. My main course is served 'warm' and the side of what was supposed to be whole Italian sausage looked like rabbit droppings and pellet chips. Cannot even describe what was served as 'sausage' but it looked like the stuff you see on a cheap frozen sausage pizza. The waitress was totally clueless as to what I ordered and what she presented. I really don't believe that Italian sausage links are even part of the ingredients you will find in this restaurant's refrigerator. Fortunately I don't live near this pseudo-Italian 'VILLA RESTAURANT' but unfortunate for the locals if this is the only taste of Italian food they know. Poor service matching the mediocre, unauthentic food that is an embarrassment to Italian food and culture.
