Find out what Italian restaurants to try in Trujillo. Trujillo is a lively intersection of ancient culture and modern arts. See ancient ruins at the Chan Chan archaeological site and be awed by the Moche Huaca del Sol y la Luna (temples of the sun and moon.). The multicolored Tunnel of Wishes on the Paseo de Aguas is a fabulous place for people-watching. Locally brewed corn beer is worth a try. If you’re a nightlife lover, pace yourself—bars and clubs get going late, and then go all night.
Things to do in Trujillo
My wife and I went here trying to find good pizza in Trujillo, nothing great so far so we decided to try different places. But I had to make a profile on trip advisor just to prevent anyone else from making a huge mistake. This is the worst pizza i've ever tasted in my life. I paid by bill after eating one bite and decided to eat somewhere else.
We are a gelato company, we make incredible gelato using the best ingredients. we are passionate about the creative process, so I hope your can enjoy our amazing italian gelato by mapache gelateria.
Entering the cafe, the first thing that strikes is that it's quite a sterile environment. Everything is white and it doesn't strike as a Gelateria. The ice creams themselves are fine, but not very inventive. The staff don't seem to enjoy leaving their area behind the counter, which is slightly problematic.

I went there while I was on vacation in Peru/Trujillo earlier this month and I honestly really enjoyed it! The ambiance was really nice and the staff was really polite, helpful and respectful. The menu? Amazing!! Wow, i tried two pizzas in two different times, and god knows how tasty they were!I also tried one crêpe and it was also delicious!I am definitely going back there if I am heading back to Peru! Its a must go! Saludos!

I went to La Piadina with my family, because the place looked really nice and we heard from locals that the food is really good, and I must say it really is! We tried the Pizza Pera and Pizza Lomo Saltado (the best pizzas in our life). My wife also ordered the Magret de Pato (duck breast with an amazing home made papardelle pasta with rocoto salsa). For desserts we chose Crocantino de Almendra and Creme brulee which were delicious as well. If you want to go to La Piadina don't forget to try the Sangria, much better than in Europe! Very nice place, great design, good music, service, and amazing food!! You do not need anything more to spend beautiful evening.

We stumbled on this little and I mean little. It is a little hole in the wall with 4 tables maybe 5 that serves up small individual pizzas, lasagna, and other specialties. There is no real kitchen just a wood fired oven, a fridge, and a hot pot cook top. This is Peruvian pizza and Italian so it's nothing like the states, but it is tasty. My husband was not feeling well, and the owner/cook went out of his way to make him some tomato soup which my husband really enjoyed. There was no soup on the menu, so it was really nice of him. I had vegetarian lasagna which was layered noodles in a small crock a few veggies created right in front of me, and put in the wood oven it did not compare to anything I have had in the states, but finding vegetarian restaurants in Peru that are not just beans and rice was magical. I ate a lot of so- so Pizza on our long trip :)It is very cheap to eat here, and quaint. It's worth a stop to see this little spot and support the little local restaurant. The day we went it was filled with customers, and everyone enjoyed the food, the atmosphere, and were not in a hurry to rush off.

This place has the best waiters: professional, somewhat elderly, non-intrusive. I love the old rustic, laid back feeling of the place. The pizza is ok, although I wish they had a real pizza napolitana; the cocktails are good, also the wine selection and a nice ice-cream milkshake. I hope they keep that old looking setting with those old clocks and wooden oregano plates and spoon. Recently they changed the wine glass to a modern one and it was a bit disappointing for me. This is one of the best experiences we have every time we go to Trujillo.

TRATTORIA LA TOSCANA CHARACTERISTICS: LA TOSCANA, is a Small and Exclusive TRATTORIA (Homemade Italian Cuisine Restaurant) which offers a "Closed door" impeccable service and traditional Italian cuisine, made by the owner. Discrete, private, easily access
Trujillo is a hectic city. It is difficult to stay in the city and still escape the hustle, noise, and craziness that surrounds you. In La Toscana you can do that. It was by far my favourite restaurant in Trujillo, during the 6 months that I lived there.First thing, you have to book in advance, don't just turn up and expect to eat. You are eating in a family home, although they have made the front room into a wonderful, elegant yet cosy, restaurant area. It is a family business, run from home because of the exorbitant rents that are being charged in the city for restaurants. For me it's all the better for it, as you are slightly away from the noise and feel like you are in another place altogether. The food is Italian. There is no menu, they will cook you whatever you like, within reason, and generally have a good stock of genuine Italian ingredients which they get from Lima. As a lot of products are imported, the prices are fairly high by Peruvian standards, expect to pay 80 soles for a main dish. However, the price is worth it, as the cooking is divine (better than some of the native Italians cooking in Huanchaco). Also, don't be put off by the lack of a menu, they will run through with you a few possibilities if you don't have anything in mind, and the flavour combinations are always good.I would wholeheartedly recommend this restaurant to anyone wanting Italian food in Trujillo, especially to those who have spent some time there and are feeling a little weary.

The ravioli was some of the best I have ever had. My favorite was the Negro. I have visited Trujillo twice in my life and been to Al Dente 4 different times. I am looking forward to returning to Trujillo FOR Al Dente.
