Welcome to La Rosa Blu With Mediterranean flair, lovingly prepared dishes from high quality Italian ingredients, we want to pamper and convince you.

Actually we were sailing into Rust and started our tour off at Seehotel Rust, were we left our boat. From there it was just a few minutes walk into the center of Rust where you may find this restaurant. We decided to eat there as it lies within a nice place which makes you feel comfortable. Of course we already expected it to be some sort of touristic as well because of its location but on rare occasions residents want to feel like strangers as well ;-)We made use of the "Schanigarten" in front of the restaurant which was sheltered with awnings, which was useful as it started to drizzle lateron. The (hungarian) waiters were due to the fact that they work in a touristic area still quite nice (but not more than necessary) and drinks were served immediatly after ordering. Even for the food we had not to wait very long. We had Zander, Tafelspitz, a small Pizza and chicken nuggets. The fish was o.k., but the Semmelkren of the Tafelspitz was not good at all and I was more than disappointed about that, as it usually has a very good taste. Even the Tafelspitz itself was not what I expected. At least with the chicken nuggets they didn't do anything wrong. The Pizza was quite o.k. as well. Actually tastes are different but with some dishes, like Tafelspitz, you simply have to reach a certain standard. Another aspect which showed that it was not a "real" Austrian restaurant: we had to pay for additional "Ketchup" extra (⬠0,60), which is usually never the case in restaurants. I found this really poor when I spotted it on the invoice lateron. All in all we paid ⬠60,-- for 2 adults and 2 small kids. After all I would not go there again as there are a lot more restaurants and Heurige in Rust to visit which are typically Austrian (or better call it "typical for Rust") and have excellent food and friendly service.Anyway you may check their homepage: www.haydnkeller.at

well the reputation of the place is extraordinary but the food does not come close to a fine Italian kitchen -the pasta is homemade but al dente means here really you need good teeth

Moerbisch was pretty well closed on the Monday we visited. I think they get lots of visitors over the weekend from Vienna and a music festival had just finished. Anyway we found this little place on the main street and had a drink and cake - the local Moerbischtorte was delicious. Small area for outdoor eating and also limited seating inside. Toilets are downstairs so not good for anyone with mobility problems.
