We have read other reviews on this place and look, we had the exact same meal elsewhere the next night. It was definitely better at the other place but.... when we arrived very early around 6pm there were already 19 diners. When we left about 730 pm, they had already served 36 people, mostly cheerful locals. On a Monday night off peak. It must be doing something right.

Lovely looking restaurant but the gentleman was to be kind to hin quite dismissive and spent all his time with what looked like locals. We had delicious fresh made bruschetta and pasta and gnocchi all beautifully cooked but served very uncaring. We had to catch his attention several times to ask for pepper and another drink. Not sure if he meant to come over as so rude but I took it that way especially when locals had a free drink with their bill and shown out the door. We had to find him again at the bar and pay and on your way. Not the way to get return customers...

Generally food in Austria is excellent but Alpina Bistro is one of the best. The service cannot be compared with any other place in Europe

My partner and I went for dinner having had a beer earlier in the day and seeing that they had game on the menu. The menu was given to us in English and we each chose a venison dish being very clear that we wanted the steak as the dish underneath was rolled in hazelnuts and my partner is anaphylactic. They said they only had one steak so I chose something different. When they came out they had given my partner the dish rolled in hazelnuts, I called the waiter over and tried to explain that it was wrong and that my partner is allergic to nuts and I just got a shrug! In the end we swapped meals as it didnât look like they were going to do anything about it. The food was okay, small portions with no vegetables and still got charged full price even though it was a more expensive dish which we hadnât asked for! Funnily enough we wonât be going back!
