We stumbled across this little place in the countryside as we wanted an authentic Italian restaurant for our last day in Bologna.Although no one speaks English, you are made to feel so very welcome. As it was a Sunday, we quickly realised that it was a set menu that seemed to be never ending! Course after course of pastas, meats, salads and desserts came at us thick and fast. Delicious!! An elastic after waist was definitely required afterwards and for such a reasonable price as well! Gigi, who I assume was the owner, encouraged us to try the true Italian balsamic vinegars and cheeses available. With some great hand signals, smiles and laughs we communicated throughout the afternoon.Totally free of being a tourist trap. Was definitely a highlight of the trip for us! Thank you Gigi and all the wonderful staff! Itâll be one meal we never forget!

We don't normally do campervans but hired one to attend an exhibition in Rome. We couldn't plan where we would stay on the way down and exhausted after pulling off the autostrada we chanced across this place. Ponte Guerro offer a gated and CCTV safe haven for truckers to park their wagons and have a separate lovely field for you park your camper in if overnighting. Do NOT be put off by this being a truck stop. This place is beautiful and a warmer welcome you could not wish for. It is spotless, warm and friendly. In spite of being a draw for motorway travellers, the restaurant is buzzing with local people too. We had some of the best food we have eaten anywhere in the world. The staff are friendly and the service was excellent in spite of the restaurant being packed. Without doubt on of the best fillet steaks I have ever eaten with a wild mushroom sauce, and awesome profiteroles! Our grappa's were on the house in the bar afterwards. In the morning we had gorgeous pastries and coffees and met Romeo the enormous black cat . Elis and Claudia have cleverly managed to create an organised smart truck and camper park and yet maintained a classy eating establishment - he even has incorporated a delicatessen of local products. I really can't fault this place, we even called back in on our way back. I very memorable stay, I think Elis is like a superman - he has his eye on the ball and makes you feel really welcome and looked after. Fantastic hosts. Thank you :)

Tortelloni were melting in our mouths. It was a real pleasure to eat this authentic meal. Chicken meat was perfectly golden-cooked. Excellent dish of vegetables. Incredible prices (19 euro for a full meal !) Do not forget the family-produced alcohol from nuts: its name is Nocino. it is a typical drink of Modena region but this family produces its own. At the end try the Sorbetto which is delicious. Service was fast and the owners were sincerely welcoming us. Perfectly clean in every spot with the dominant touch of a woman who loves the house. Guests are only local in-born people talking about family and business in their nice and coulourful dialect. You shall never see tourists.Open space kitchen in the other body of the building , you can see the realm of clean spaces opened to your eyes. Kitchen is an open space with steel inox tables and accessories set, where you see everything in order and perfectly clean. All staff are local people from the cookers to the waitress. They seem to be proud to defend their traditions. The building is a cosy ancient farm in the midst of a nice garden. We noted they also have rooms. We were reccomended to come here thanks to local in-born people (Mr. Silvestri: you were right !)

Recently hosted here in what appears outwardly as pretty average but do not be mistaken the food of fit for any proud Italian!A warm welcome and excellent service.A full and wholesome regional menu awaits you. First class pastas and I enjoyed a fillet steak with a balsamic sauce that I'm sure cannot be beaten anywhere...An excellent regional wine menu to wash down some excellent food. The gold Grappa to complete the menu is a must.Find, order, eat, drink, enjoy!

Gorgeous gem of the province of Modena where art, culture, history and tradition blend themselves handing a unique originality in its inhabitants. In the heart of this (strange) magnificent country dominates the ancient fortress of Rangoni Machiavelli wit
