Reviews on Italian food in South Ayrshire, Scotland, United Kingdom. The village of Alloway is home to the Robert Burns Birthplace Museum and the Robert Burns Heritage Trail. Highlights of the trail include Auld Kirk Alloway, Burns Cottage, Burns Monument Gardens and the 13th century Brig O'Doon. South of Alloway along the attractive A719 coastal road is Culzean Castle and Country Park which offers much of interest all ages. En route is an unusual roadside attraction called Electric Brae, a 'magnetic hill' where a car left out of gear will appear to go uphill due to an optical illusion. A few minutes drive from Culzean Castle is the famous Open Golf championship course at Turnberry where the clubhouse is open to the public.

I recently visited Vito's for a meal with the boys. The staff are friendly and the service is good. I started with calamari and had tempura chicken with fries for main course; it was very good. The primitivo wine was first class but unfortunately they ran out of stock part way through the meal.

We came across this restaurant on a wet Sunday afternoon. It wasnt overly busy but the staff were very friendly and attentive. A mozzarella, tomato and basil panini with fries and a tuna panini went down well. A bottle of mineral water, a couple of small glasses of wine and two excellent espresso's brough the bill to about £30. The coffee was absolutely superb, its worth a trip just for that.

Went on Saturday afternoon with our kids and grandparents. Food was all good. Great portion sizes. Kids pizza was almost as big as the adult. Everything was really fresh. Our only grievance was with the bell from the kitchen. It was totally relentless, so off putting and quickly became incredibly annoying. Would have hated to be in the restaurant when it was any busier and it was ringing more frequently.
