With so many superb pizza options in Saugerties and so many conflicting opinions about them, it's hard to know where to go. My strategy is to first decide what type of pizza I want and then pick the pizzeria based on that. Village Pizza is my go-to pizzeria when I've got a hankering for a tomato basil pie with extra garlic. It's also my choice when looking for quieter dining. Their back dining room is very nice and a more relaxing experience. The cheesy garlic bread is always a nice prelude to the main pie event. For a quick slice the front storefront is nice since there's always a variety of fresh by-the-slice pies waiting for you.

Pizza is bad assed, spinach rolls are just awesome. Family owned business and prices are reasonable. It's a win win. Although their dining room is a bit dated it doesn't take away from the quality of the good. Best pizza in Saugerties!

Since the rebuilt the restaurant is a lot nicer. The inside is decorated nicely. The food is decent. You can tell this is a mismanaged restaurant. The bar is filled with "family" and off duty workers yelling and swearing constantly so do not try to sit at the bar. In the dining room the service is what you would expect from a family restaurant. Okay, but they can be slow and have no worry of ever being reprimanded. Not a bad experience, but overall, for the extra time it would take to eat here with the mediocre service, you are better off going to a higher quality restaurant.

We had no idea where to stop for an early dinner off the NYS Thruway on our way to Albany. Our GPS pointed us to Emiliani. What a fabulous find....we were greeted by owner Franco who is a great host and also was our waiter. My husband and I started with wine, then enjoyed the bruschetta appetizer followed by our both having the Orecchiette with Broccoli Rabe & Sausage. The sausage was homemade!! Our entrees were so delicious and perfectly cooked. The cannoli is a must...homemade and awesome espresso! Hope to go back our next trip thru. We loved this place!

I know better than to expect really great food at "Italian Restaurants" in the United States. It is just not fair to compare different type of food. Nonetheless, I always expect good Veal Parmigiana for some reason since you just cannot get that in Italy at all, so no comparison problems. It was mediocre, barely acceptable. The Montepulciano was of poor quality. I don't mind paying more for decent wine, but there was no option as far as I saw for a better quality Montepulciano. I had fusilli with the veal which was also mediocre. The included salad was minuscule and poor. So that was the food. The service was excellent with attentive waiters and very efficient. The hostess was also very nice and accommodating. The atmosphere was very nice.

The restaurant was empty at 6 on a Saturday night. Since we were staying here we decided to "eat in" before going out for a concert. Frisee was OK, mussels very good and pasta fagioli very good also. Great bread and service

Was there last night with friends. Warm setting with warm people when you get there. Great bread basket immediately on the table. 3 different breads. Plus some chumus and butter. Excellent wine list and great martinis. Salads appetizer all tasty. Mains are delicious, a little rich for me but wonderfully prepared, fresh, and tasty. It's fine dining and worth a visit for a wonderful meal.

This place rocks! Cannot imagine what the recent reviewer could be talking about....that Slices has "slipped?? Simply order a Pizza 'Diane' and see for yourself. My family is particularly in love with any of the Grandma pizzas these folks make. Saugerties would be much less of a destination without Slices around. Just sayin'!
