You know when you see the locals packing the place, the food must be good. At Mombo's this holds true. The place isn't very big but they do take out especially across from the junior college, this place is jumping. We ordered their family special that included pepperoni pizza (large), cheesy bread and wings. The wings were just ok but the bread was tasty and quite cheesy. The pizza was tasty and the crust was really good. They have a lot of options for slices so I am excited they are close by but you can order online, too. Definitely be back.

Recently had a crummy pie here. Asked for a small onion pizza. Waited close to a half an hour only to be brought a thin crust w a slightly burnt crust and onions (cold) strewn about the top. My friend had a brew (fine..... how can you screw up a beer!) and fries that came and we're greasy. Service is OK however and its not very expensive. You get what you pay for. Go elsewhere......Hello, thank you for your review. I apologize for the poor food quality you received. I would love to make this right for you. At your convenience, would you mind contacting me at [email protected] and reference this review? Thanks!

We were returning from Tahoe and were arriving in Santa Rosa at dinner time. My wife suggested another Italian restaurant. I persuaded her to try Tomatina since I had had a good experience there for lunch a few months ago (luncheon sized pasta and meatballs). Unfortunately, the salads were average and the main courses were below average. Both of our entrees featured chicken which tasted like low grade or overcooked chicken. The sauces were ok, but average. My wife's veggies were "roasted". She thought they tasted somewhat off and offered a taste to me. What I tasted was rancid oil. Perhaps both of our tasted buds were off that night, but in summary the experience was not pleasant. Next time I will follow my wife's recommendations.

We were staying at a hotel nearby and wanted pizza, vegan pizza. We found Gio online and stopped in for dinner. Very friendly wait staff. Wonderful, thin crust vegan pizza. Smallish place. My only complaint is way too TVs. There was no place to sit where we weren't facing a TV.

One of the best Italian restaurants we have ever eaten in. Ricardo, the owner, is the perfect host, always looking out for his guestsâ best interests and enjoyment of his food. Polenta is superb, gnocchi is fantastic and carbonara is to die for!! Makes us wish we lived in Santa Rosa instead of Texas.

Nice setting and friendly staff. The pizza, while wood-fired, isnât anything close to real Napoletana pizza. The crust is too thin and soggy (partly from too many toppings), overly garlicky and (for the salumi pizza) overwhelming rosemary. The meatball pasta was also drowned in a tomato sauce that had far too much garlic and tasted more of tomato paste than real or delicate tomatoes. The wine choices were reasonable and included some relatively low priced options. Total bill for one pizza, one pasta and bottle of wine, with tip and tax, came to $70.

On a recent trip to Sonoma County we stayed in Santa Rosa for two nights. We ate at Riviera both nights. The service was excellent; the pasta dishes were fresh and home cooked. Unfortunately the desserts were excellent and added to our weight gain. The wines are excellent.

Dinner at 8pm, since that was the earliest reservation we could get, and I'm so happy to have enjoyed my fresh Italian meal. I knew it was highly-rated, and had checked out the menu in the window, and was impressed with the quality of the ingredients and the finesse in which they were prepared. Next time I'm saving room for dessert.

The food here is great. Classic Italian. We had the salmon and the swordfish. Both were very well prepared. The seafood pasta was also very good. The service was excellent. Thanks for the compliments! We're delighted to hear you enjoyed a few of our seafood entrees and appreciated our service. Thank you for taking the time to share your experience with a 5-star review. If you find yourself in Santa Rosa again, we hope you'll join us! Take care. - Karin & Marco, Owners.
