Stopped at this place for some lunch on the way to our hotel. Really nice place. Menu was good with lots of choice and really good value for money. I had a panini which was loaded with filling, my husband had the burger which looked amazing!Great find Thank you

Arriving in Moriani, you might prefer head to the beach for food. You might be right. But a cantina di Matteu has probably better products than the seafront restaurants do. Everything is authentic, locally sourced and tasty. The wine selection is great and you can buy an amazing selection of rare Corsican wonders to take home with you. The staff and especially the owner, who was born and raised in the village, are also very welcoming and charming. If you're in the area, you need to go take a look. And if you want any souvenir, a nice bottle of wine is better than a lousy t-shirt.

We had an apartment less than 5 mins from here so decided to give it a try. I had the pasta Arriabatta which was very nice. My wife had prawns and san Jacques although she felt they were a little undercooked of her liking. The kids menu was limited although our 2 enjoyed the pasta Bolognese. The setting is very good and we had a table over looking the beach. The kids had an ice cream desert so I had the warm apple crumble which was superb. Toilets were very good and the service was decent. Worth a try.

Healthy & hearty food in a cosy place
What a great place. We passed by in the dark and from the outside it just looks like a small stone cottage, from the inside it is just beautiful renovated. staff is very friendly and extremely helpful and even happy to translate the menu (french only). The food is amazing and the prices are really ok. great place to enjoy a lovely dinner in nice atmosphere.

This was virtually the only place in the DK Eyewitness Guide at an appropriate stopping point on the road south from Bastia. There was nothing wrong with the lunch we had but the dishes had only very basic ingredients - mainly lots of tomato in every dish (and not a lot else!), and although fresh, they were not really proper salads or main courses. It was hot and everyone was sitting outside but it was in a large concrete veranda with not much character, and the staff were pretty disinterested. It looked like there was a nicer shady garden with a few tables but they weren't in use when we were there. It really did not feel special and we felt we did not get great value for money.

We had driven past this pizzeria several times and had dismissed it as just a roadside shack. Enquiries at a local shop for a recommendation for a takeaway pizza led us here.We had a pizza and a portion of chips. We waited while the woodfire was heated up and our meal was soon ready. The pizza was fine and the chips were of a shape we hadn't seen before. (evidenced in one of the pictures already submitted here).Very clean and tidy tables and chairs etc.No alcohol on sale that we could see.

On reno
We found this restaurant while staying in nearby talasani - it is high in the mountains with a terrace affording spectacular views of the distant coastline and the isle of monte christo.Food - well this was as good as the view. We had a shared octopus salad starter which was well presented and sufficient for two. It was tasty and well presented. Our mains were a local veal steak with a herb butter, it was first class and cooked well. The flavours were delicate and subtle. The other main was a homemade ribbon pasta with local charcuterie called lonzo and corpse mushrooms. Again very good.Overall the food was as good as the view and if visiting this beautiful area make sure you visit this restaurant. Our only regret was that we were flying home and didn't get the chance to try another meal!
