Me and my friends decided to visit jumeirah hotel and we found a very nice restaurant near the pool and beach the ambiance was really amazing,,,the food?flavourful!i really love the pasta and the seafood platterand the service?profesional staff very friendly and approachable!they(mabelle and mark)help us from ordering til we finish our very memorable dining experience in OLIO restaurants kudos to the chef and staff of olio restaurant...Thank you very much for your marvelous feedback, eilujc2019! I have seldom gone to a restaurant that I disliked as much as this one. The only saving grace is that the service staff are brilliant. Apparently, the restaurant has a new chef; he/she needs to rethink.Balsamico was described by the hotel manager as contemporary Italian. I was alone so I planned only to have a starter and a second. I had hoped for a nice salad and an interesting pasta. I guess contemporary means having a very limited choice, no salad and no real pasta dish. Instead, I had crispy octopus that consisted of about one very small tentacle, resting on a strawberry coulis with about 4 or 5 small basil leaves. Does octopus go with strawberry? I don't know but the octopus was not crispy, was unseasoned and the tasteless coulis definitely did not complement. My next course- secondi- was served on a plate large enough to serve a turkey but contained about six miniscule tortellini with a piece of beef cheek about two-thirds the size of a penny. The plate also contained a thin slice of cauliflower and tiny sliver of anchovy. It did not taste too bad but looked ridiculous on the large platter and definitely and a dish to share with your companion.I mentioned to the waitress that the portion size was really small and apparently I am not the first person to mention it. I had not planned on having more but the first and second courses were not enough to satisfy. Perhaps that is the plan; serve tiny portions and make people spend more money. I ordered beef encrusted in something. Although tender, it was the driest, most poorly prepared dish I have even had and not even a lettuce leaf to compliment. The meal for one with only water cost around $60. Therefore, it is highly recommended in your next visit that you consult the chef on those orders of your liking before proceeding as to ensure the same is a perfect match to your own taste. Despite all of the above, your valued comments have been taken into considerations and shared with all concerned for their attention as applicable. The great thing about San Marco is that it actually has some Italian personnel. So they do things the right way. Unfortunately the results are less than impressive. Sure, the Italian cuisine requires high quality fresh ingredient and they are not always easy to find in a foreign country such as Kuwait. However, if even the Cacio and Pepe (that requires good pasta, good Pecorino and black pepper) is not properly executed, the judgmentally on the cooking cannot be positive.

It is nice place with modern decor.The food was magnificent.We order Risotto Mushroom,Cesar Salad,Grilled chicken,Mushroom Soup ,Mashed Potato all very delicious.Moreover, the staff were friendly ,welcome and the service is fair.100% i will return again.

My friend who just came to kuwait and i decided to have italian taste for the night,so we chose this;) From the moment you entered the rastaurant staffs were already smiling. The lady staff(forgot her name sorry) who took our orders recommended the best tasting pasta! Bravo for that:) she was very assisting.. keep it up! Definitely we'll come back;)
