We go a few times a year, usually a drink and snack at the bar. Today it was the pizza. The wood oven gives the crust a light char and the toppings were great. Sitting at the bar, service is always great.

I read many of the reviews before I started to write this as I did before we visited the restaurant to see if I missed something initially or if I will be off base with this review. I picked this place because their menu looked a little more inventive than the other local Italian places. There were 4 of us on a Saturday night. The place is extremely loud. Everyone there was overly nice, which is fine, but our waiter kept rubbing my back every time he came to the table. Never had that happen in all my years. They may want to add " And Massage Parlor" to their name. That aside, I had the rabe egg rolls. The taste was good but the greasiness killed the dish. Can't deep fry at low temperatures! Should have baked them. I also had the risotto which is a great test to see if the chef knows what he is doing. Once again, taste was good, not great, the rice was cooked perfectly but it was sitting in a greasy mess. I was getting agita as I was eating it.My take away on this is I will not go back since everyone else at my table thought the meal was mediocre at best. I don't understand the raving reviews of others but when you look at the young crowd that goes there, I guess it makes sense. I was being generous with the stars.

Birthday Sunday afternoon dinner with my wife and two teenage daughters. Late afternoon was not crowded but place was filling up as we finished our dinner. Excellent choices. Shrimp parmigiana and Chicken Siciliana were huge portions and left us full. Excellent penne all a vodka also as well as good specials. Our waitress was friendly and attentive and food came out in a timely manner. This has to be one of the best Italian Restaurants in Westchester County. We will be back and look forward to visit8ng again soon.

Had the pleasure of attending a party here and was delighted with the restaurant. The food was outstanding and the service was excellent. The Chef and Owner Rafele, presented a wonderful array of appetizers and entrees. My favorite was rhe eggplant. A fun filled birthday presentation was tastefully done for the Honoree.A must visit if you are in the area.
First time we tried this pizzeria located in downtown Rye. Small family run operation serving good Italian food. We ordered takeout pizza and it was delicious. Their dining menu for all the various meals they serve is extensive. Small seating area. Dough and crust thin and tasty. The white pizza we also ordered was the best we tasted in a long time. Well worth the visit or call for take out. I donât think youâll be disappointed. They also deliver and it was prompt.

Nice lunch. Had pulpo to start followed by polpetti in fresh tomato sauce with ricotta. Seared sea scallops to follow. Found the olives, brocoli rave and concentrated tomato sauce a tad overwhelming for scallops. Nice wine list. Excellent service. A local staple. Thanks so much for your kind review. We are working on changing the preparation on the scallops. Please feel free to ask for our dinner scallop preparation. It is a much lighter dish with better balance. We really do appreciate your feedback and look forward to seeing you soon. Please make sure you ask for Daniel.

Had a cocktail at "the counter" (the place is a former diner from 40 years ago), the bartender was more interested in taking a private phone call than serving us. She was also talking to two other woman at the counter. Started with clams oreganata. Had a very different chicken martini with triple sec, orange & ginger - delish Also the Cacciucco di Mare - lobster, shrimp, clams, mussels & calamari - excellent and a big portion. Staff was excellent. Will go bac.k

Generations of Rye children and adults have been well looked after at this downtown Rye institution. New York style pizza- check. Big salads- check. Pasta and sandwiches - check. Anything fancy or fuzzy- nope- just classic New York pizzeria fare. Sunrise's menu is limited to NY style pizza, sandwiches, red sauce pasta, and salads but all are done well and with care. They are truly great with kids- so don't hesitate to bring your over-hungry brood in. Great place to stop in after a ball game or for a quick bite before heading to the train. It is more or less in train parking lotTry the lasagna pizza- it's fantastic!Oh- Make sure you bring your cash. They don't take credit cards- though they have been know to offer credit until your next visit when you're light- which is nice!Enjoy one of down town Rye's favorites!

A very casual vibe with attentive wait staff. Reviews of loud acoustics are accurate, although attempts at attenuation are evident. Beet salad, burger cooked perfect to medium rare, tiramisu and bread pudding to die for. Donât skip the bread, especially the focaccia. The only miss was the gnocchi, a bit over cooked with overpowering sauce. Will definitely return when in the area.
