Reviews on Italian food in Rotorua, North Island, New Zealand. Bubbling mineral springs and pools promise maximum relaxation in Rotorua, on New Zealand's North Island. Therapeutic hot mud pools, dramatic geysers and a buried village are within easy reach of the city. What happens in the bubbling mud geysers of "Rotovegas"—the area at the top of Fenton Street—stays in Rotovegas. Once you've made the most of the mud, soar nearly 2,000 feet on the Skyline Gondola for views of Lake Rotorua, then zip back down to explore the lake by paddle steamer, fishing charter or WWII amphibious vehicle.

Visited with my husband and ordered our food, we had starters and ordered the grilled eye fillet for our mains, the food is always served to a high standard and the steak just melts in your mouth, the menu is priced accordingly and I would recommend trying this restaurant, we have eaten at this restaurant for quiet a few years now and have never left not satisfied. The chefs and staff are always friendly and helpful.I always book a table through their webpage and get confirmation in a good time frame.

Papa TazioRotoruaSurprisingly good686625092We did not expect good Italian food in New Zealand, but found it. The city closed a portion of a street to pedestrian-only access, consisting mainly of restaurants, and named it Eat Streat (the word "street" purposely misspelled). We decided to try Italian for lunch, and Papa Tazio did not disappoint. The food was very good, even for my Italian-descended spouse. We were a threesome, and we all had something different; all of us were happy with our individual choices. The restaurant is modern in design and offered a lot of menu choices. The atmosphere is pleasant and comfortable, and the prices were reasonable. The spaghetti Bolognese was VERY meaty and tasty. If we were to ever go back to Rotorua (unlikely), we would definitely go back to Papa Tazio.

Ambrosia, with itâs beautiful traditional interior, was the first licensed restaurant in Rotorua since 1954. The superb setting offers a choice of dining either indoors or outdoors. The spacious indoor area with its vibrant décor, and richly polished wood
What appears to be a great place to relax with a beer after a long day with your work mates, is also a great place to dine on clever culinary delights! Don't disregard the menu too hastily. The scallops are devine, trust me you won't be dissappointed.

Leonardo's is a small, family-owned restaurant. Our Menu is quite small only because we work only with the freshest products possible. For the same reason, we change our menu very often, to try new flavours and recipe. The restaurant is open for Lunch and
On my fourth day in New Zealand, we were supposed to be having one of the best planned itinerary in our trip. Halfway through the day, the youngest member caught cold bug and had to be hospitalised.. missing one of the tour was not really that important but the fact that it drained our energy and affected our mood. Luckily she put up a strong face and after 4 hours she was discharged. Feeling hungry, I fired up Google to find place to eat. As a matter of fact the only food that they all could agree on was pizza so Italian restaurant it was. Many options but we settled for the nearest to us with good ratings. Located at Eat Street Rotorua, we decided against dining alfresco due to the cold weather. As it was weekday, not many diners were seen and therefore we got undivided attention from the waiter who served us. â¾Risotto con Granchio - crab, chili, chive and sweet pea risotto, parmesan and prosciutto crisp NZ$26.50 was the best money spent! The risotto was brimming with the sweetness from the crustacean while the crispy parmesan prosciutto provided extra crunch to the otherwise soft texture of the Italian rice. â¾Insalata caprese NZ$15.50 - with cured prosciutto, horopito and basil oil, balsamic reduction and croutons. â¾Margarita NZ$18.00 - a classic Italian pizza done right with Napoli sauce, cherry tomato, mozzarella, fresh basil, and olive oil. Thin crispy crust with generous cheese and tomato toppings but the happiest part was to see how the little ones gobbled up everything â¾House pouring white wine - badly need this to sooth the feeling after the blardy incident. A plan of just stopping by for a quick dinner turned out to be one of the best meal of the entire trip due to the setback earlier in the day and the fact that the weather was very gloomy.

Capizzi Pizzeria serves traditional style wood-fired pizzas. Our difference is that not only are our pizzas delicious and made from the highest quality ingredients - they are available by the slice. We are licensed, so come in and enjoy pizza, a wine or b
Looks a bit avg on the outside but is a bit more cozy on the inside. A very basic menu and an even more basic wine list and beer list. Very basic. Not fine dining at all but overall the pizzas were a good. but not fantastic. Bases were good , toppings were ok, but possibly we ordered wrong two as both our pizzas were loaded with lettuce? For a basic style dinner itâs a good spot

Imperfetto is a small authentic Italian pizzeria. Pizza is made in the traditional italian way, baked in a wood fire oven served with a big side of love.
We had 2 pizzas - both had tasty well cooked bases, toppings were excellent - the Italian sausage was delicious, good quality salami, tasty olives and a tomato sauce with real flavour...and it wasn't over cheesed so it was pizza as it should be. Nice people too.

We took TripAdvisorâs recommendation and went here for dinner on one night of our stay in Rotorua. It did not disappoint! The menu was varied with lots of options, the food came out quickly despite the little restaurant being almost full, and it was tasty. Service was brilliant.
