This restaurant is in my neighborhood ... I enjoy every visit there !!! Family run buisness with an emphasis on their wine making. Very busy when open , often it's just the bar for wine and small foods. When open for dinner or lunch , the amount of guests speaks for itself !!!The food is always high quality , seasonal availability . I've never ordered anything that was not fresh, well presented and very , very good !!!!You can't go wrong here for a meal or for an excellent glass of wine !!!!Highly recommend.

We were there, without reservation on a Saturday lunch. Girls welcomed us with a glass of Prosecco. We choose for two different starters: steamed sea salad (really delicious) and gratinee sea scallops and rezor shells (very delocious). Then both choose the mixed fried fish plate, which was gorgeous. The venue is nice, people are friendly and very professional, price is adequate. A very nice surprise, since we have been passing by for many years.

This restaurant has all sorts of Italian food, but Pizzas are the highlight. There are several crusts to choose from, and more variety in toppings than you can imagine. Can't decide? - they'll do a half-and-half for you. The beer and wine selections are really diverse and excellent as well. The manager greets you like a long-lost brother, and remembers you after just one visit. The menus are available in Italian, Slovenian and English, and perhaps even languages. You must understand that the majority of the staff only speaks Italian, but there's always at least one waiter who is bi-lingual or multi-lingual around. In my case, this was a young lady who was a delight to deal with, helpful, friendly and funny. If you find yourself in the area -stop by for dinner. You'll be happy you did.

On a brief stay in Monfalcone before flying out, I was seeking a pleasant atmosphere and regional wines and dishes. I found them all here. I also enjoyed helpful, friendly service from the staff--which is not always the case for a solo female traveller who does not speak Italian.

This small but very cosy restaurant proposes very good home made pasta specialities but also other dishes. Following the recommendation of the very nice service lady we took pastas of the day and a special mixed started plate. All was really excellent food and nicely decorated on the plate. The red house wine that she recommended was also very nice! A restaurant to go back again!

This is a small, out of the way neighborhood trattoria not too far from the airport. It's tucked away in a little neighborhood. The salad was good and very fresh. They had superb seafood. The staff was very helpful to this American who speaks only a few words of Italian.

This was a memorable dinner. The ambience is pleasant and the setting is good, although the restaurant building is found in a residential neighbourhood. The dishes are well-presented and project the owners' philosophy of offering not just food, but all the memories the clients may have related to them.Do not fail to take the restaurateur's advice for the best dishes of the day. He's also an excellent story-teller, with a wealth of information on local produce and ingredients, and although we had an appointment after the dinner, we were happy to sit and chat with him for an extra 45 minutes.

Not really a pub nor a restaurant, just a very comfortable place to eat cheap meals at lunch- or dinnertime. You can sit on the benches outside or eat inside: the room is very cosy and easygoing. A wide range of hamburgers and sandwiches but also of mixed salads and main courses. There aren't many types of beer but the quality they offer is really good (try the Belgian "kwak" served in the a very special glass which imitates the original "Koetsiersglas").Very kind staff and very cheap prices. Just mind that the kitchen is not open after 9.30 p.m.

The best grill in Sistiana, a beautiful view of the gulf of Triest, grilled meat specialties, a few meters from the castle of Duino. Open from March to October

I had lunch at this place with a group of about 30 people. When I entered the place I immediately felt it had substance: there was great care for the details in a newly renovated building which according to the owners is one of the oldest houses in Staranzano. The food belongs to the local tradition and was actually very good. We had some samples of cheese, ham etc as appetizer (the cheese with chilli peppers was awesome). We then had a double first course with gnocchi with goulash and crespelle with some local filling... excellent! There was no second course in the menu we chose, which was appropriate because the sizes are quite generous. We, however, had a dessert... the tiramisu I got was good, but it seems the nuts pie was really awesome (judging from the comments my friends made). I didn't rave for the white wine (chardonnay, I think) which was served, but it could well have been a personal taste. I didn't try the red wine. In any case, plastic bottles for the wine aren't that nice and don't put the drinker in the right mindset, I would recommend glass ones...Service was nice, informal and attentive (they even gave us a small gift). My girlfriend must eat gluten free and they arranged a custom menu for her with no problem. One of us was vegetarian and his custom menu seemed also very interesting.Pricing, at just ⬠18 for all what we ate, was great!! I would definitely recommend this place.Probably because we were a large group, we were seated in a room which isn't the usual dining room, but was nice as well. I looked around a bit and found the "real" dining room and I found it to be quite nice... I hope to come back to this place one evening, it should be quite atmospheric.Dear lordartha, thanks so much for your comment, we are very glad of it. After all these kind words I can only answer to your observation about our wine. I'm totally agree with you: visually I prefer the glass bottle too. But at the end we are simple farm peaple and we prefer the substance to the appearance so I hope you enjoyed our wine in "plastic bottle" as well. Thanks, see you soon!
