I was originally from Baldwin and remember the old Venice Inn with its white tablecloths and subdued pink fluorescent lights edging the ceiling. The pizza crust was thin and you could easily fold it. I went back to what is now NOVI. The white tablecloths are gone as is the lighting. However, the restaurant and its food are still good. We were there for lunch. We shared an order of calamari which was plenty for 4 people. It could have been seasoned a bit more. We shared the white pizza which had no sauce but was ricotta, mozzarella and plenty of garlic. This was delicious. They also had several other pizza and Italian dishes available. The service was good and the staff was friendly and attentive.

We arrived on time for our 6 pm reservation and we were surprised to see that the restaurant had many empty tables. There was a street fair that day and the road was closed to vehicular traffic which may account for the nearl empty restaurant. We shared the calamari for an appetizer. This was good. The menu was just ok there was really nothing that was a must have. Our entrees were angel hair pasta with shrimp and the Branzino special. The branzino special was good but at $38 was very overpriced. I would not have ordered the branzino but unfortunately nothing else was appealing. Dodici is just an average restaurant. I read some of the reviews of those who rated it 5stars but I do not agree with their assessment. There are many outstanding Italian restaurants but Dodici is not one of them. The staff was friendly. In fact I saw some customers being greeted by the staff so I assume this restaurant has its regular customers but for me, I won't be a regular.

For the most part, we really enjoyed our meal of beef osso buco, grilled chicken over penne pasta, linguine with marinara and a fine ending dessert of crackling creme brule. It was all filling, good sized portions, very nicely seasoned and felt and tasted like good ol' comfort food. The only part that was not to our liking was our waiter, who inappropriately criticized the busboy, as well as did not bring us fresh ground pepper, nor grated cheese although he brought it to the tables next to us. Sounds petty, but we knew that this same waiter was familiar with the other couple we were dining with, plus, our meals DID call for the pepper and cheese. So our meal was really good and our waiter, not so much.

I have taken dinner here a few times in my visits to NY. The dining room is spacious, clean and well attended. Food is excellent with reasonable prices for NY. In my party of four recently we ordered shrimp parma, chicken parma and two orders of ravioli with meatballs. Everyone was happy with their meals. Easy parking at the restaurant which is a plus. A double size glass of chardonnay was only $10. Definitely recommend.

I lived in this area for several years and visited many years after, somehow this was my first trip to Il Luogo. The homemade pasta was fantastic. My steak was good. They had some excellent wine by the glass at a very reasonable price....baby amarone. We were in heaven. The wait staff was very good. We came on a quiet weeknight and that seems to be the best time if you want the royal treatment. Compliments to the chef and staff, we have been talking favorably about you ever since.

A fantastic restaurant, oozing essence of Italy. From the moment you walk in you actually believe you are in Italy. It has the atmosphere of a bar and Italian restaurant combined.A great friendly atmosphere with an extensive menu which provides very carefully crafted âSpecialâsâ on the menu.It also provides a great selection of beers and wines. The staff and servers were brilliant which added to the already rewarding atmosphere.

I made reservations on Monday for a Saturday night and I was told that I only had the table for 2 hours. We were seated about 10-15 minutes later than our dinner reservations because the guests at the table were paying the bill and then the table had to be set for us. I was a little surprised by the time limitation, however, I accepted it. We were greeted by one waiter who took and served our drink order. In a short while another waiter greeted us and started to rattle off the specials of the day for appetizers and entrees. There were too many specials and very overwhelming, it was just too much to remember. The waiter got annoyed when we asked to see the menu. I thought the waiter should have had a nicer disposition rather than being annoyed. Dario's is trying to be an upscale restaurant but it really isn't. Someone at out table asked the waiter if one of the seafood specials that they were offering which included crab meat asked if ythe crab was imitation or real...he sheepishly told us imitation. No upscale restaurant, which Dario's pre ports to be, sells imitation crab meat as real crab meat unless you ask. Shame on Dario's for being deceptive. The waiter was honest but the restaurant isn't. This game by Dario's caused me to lower my grade to "poor" for this restaurant. Go elsewhere. The restaurant is small. Save yourself the disappointment...go elsewhere. PS. We were at our table more than 2 hours and no one asked us to leave because no one was waiting for a table, in fact the restaurant was partly empty. I'm sure they were hoping for a crowd but there was none. What was the drama that we had to be done with dinner within two hours? Hogwash!!

Be prepared to either shout, or wear noise-cancelling ear buds because Nick's is one LOUD restaurant , but the food makes the noise level worthwhile. You can get single or family portions and both are definitely filling, rich, flavorful (among other choices, we started with a pizza, of course, made thin crust style, with the freshest basil on top. SO good!), and presented fairly quickly by a fast-moving wait staff (it's crowded in here: one reason for how loud it is!). Nick's has modern decor and design, with high ceilings with exposed ductwork, slatted "fencing" that separates the entryway with the main restaurant, a full bar with large-screen TVs, framed illustrations on the walls, and it is fairly narrow (another reason why it is kinda crowded). It has a bit of a Manhattan restaurant vibe. Bring your appetite, and think about those earplugs.

A must!On Sunday, August 19, 2018 at 5:30 my friend and I had dinner at Cena081. We were staying overnight at the Vianna spa and hotel. It was a girls weekend. We found the restaurant on a website called Restaurant.com. I called to make reservations and Armando the manager picked up the phone and place those reservations for us. When we arrived we sat outside in the patio. Although you were on Post Avenue on Long Island we felt as if you were in someoneâs backyard in Italy. Paul was our server. We ordered the Caprese as an appetizer and split it. We also ordered as an appetizer the baked chicken wings. They called Coscette di pollo. We both ordered risotto. It was made just a little bit differently, more creamier. See the 081 in the restaurant name is the area code in Italy from where the owner originated. Itâs in the north. Northern Italian cuisine tends to be a little bit more creamier. Both the dishes were delicious. Risotto w/ Asparagus shrimpRisotto w/ Porcini mushrooms Since there wasnât any Italian bread, the owner sent over grilled veggies and even treated us to coffees and liquors after dinner. Armando was so nice.

We have been coming to La Parma (all three of them) for many years. The one in Woodbury is our favorite but we decided to try again the LaParma 111 because it was closer to our friends houses. The food was good, plentiful and served with a smile. Definitely family style and LOTS of garlic, but I like that! It is noisy, crowded and good for large family gatherings.
