Reviews on Italian food in Province of Vizcaya, Basque Country, Spain. Biscay (Basque: Bizkaia; Spanish: Vizcaya) is a province of Spain located just south of the Bay of Biscay. The name also refers to a historical territory of the Basque Country, heir of the ancient Lordship of Biscay. Its capital city is Bilbao. It is one of the most prosperous and important provinces of Spain as a result of the massive industrialization in the last years of the 19th century and first half of the 20th century. Since the deep deindustrialization of the 1970s, the economy has come to rely more on the services sector.

After reading the other reviews on Trip Advisor we decided to give Pulcinella a try. We walked 1.25 miles to the location shown on the map on Trip Advisor and on the restaurants own web site only to find it wasn't there. We eventually discovered it was within 100m of where we had started, close to the Puente Colgante. We never got to try the food as the waiter was so rude and unhelpful that we walked out half way through ordering. We will never go there again.

Italian pizzeria with gourmet and PDO ingredients. Organic Italian flour and technique of triple fermentation of the dough. Authentic Neapolitan oven. All 100% handmade by the Italian brothers Demaio.
I thought this place would be amazing based on the reviews but it was honestly just okay. The focus is on pizza and they have a small choice of beer and wines. It is hard to get a table and they are generally very busy but the service is actually very good. The pizza crust is thin and the sauce is good, but nothing special. I would recommend the buffalo mozzarella pizza, second one on the menu. The only explanation for these three stars is that we have not been able to recommend the pizzas best suited to your tastes. La Speck is one of the most loved pizzas by the people here in Bilbao, italians and spanish. The authentic Agerola mozzarella, the Sardinian tomato (of one of the best Italian whole peeled tomato brands), authentic Speck from Trentino Alto Adige, Parmigiano Reggiano aged 30 months in the mountains: all these ingredients are not just ok, they are simply Italian excellence that no one else use here in Bilbao. We are sorry that you don't appreciate it and that you preferred a non-Italian pizzeria in Bilbao that doesn't not work with this level of quality. Anyway, thank you so much for coming.

This restaurant was really great. The service was excellent and the staff were so attentive and friendly. The food was absolutely delicious and really well made. My husband and I both had pizzas. They were a generous size without being too heavy. The desserts were also fantastic and their wine recommendation was excellent. I would very highly recommend this restaurant.
