The penne vegetaria was great. Lots of flavor and good variety. My friend enjoyed his meal that included pork. Great selection of wine along with great service made it a wonderful experience.

I do not give many 5 Point ratings to restaurants, but save those for truly exceptional places to eat. We often visited the Picones when it was in Sennfeld and sorely missed it when it closed. Now it is back in a new and much larger location in Gerolzhofen. Picones is both an everyday restaurant and one that is also nice enough for celebrating special occasions.We stopped in for a Sunday lunch. The restaurant is conveniently located in a large, attractive building. The dining room is tastefully decorated and spacious. The tables are what one expects from an upscale establishment. The menu was full of dishes that one does not see in every Italian Restaurant, and most of the traditional dishes one does expect. My wife ordered the Cannelloni with an Insalata Mista. I chose the Cozze Pomodoro. As we were driving further that day we did not have any wine or beer, but the wine selection was good and reasonably priced. From past experience with Picones, the wines have always been excellent.When our food arrived we were surprised at the large serving sizes. I love mussels and have never had a portion this large. There were over 30 of the highest quality mussels, in the shells, cooked in a delicious soup made of fresh crisp vegetables. I have never had better than these. My wife's cannelloni was also rather large, filled with ricotta and spinach, and served oven hot. For dessert we split a Veneziano. Again it was a large portion of top quality.We are very pleased to see this fine restaurant open again as it might be the finest Italian restaurant in the region.

This became our favorite place before or after dinner. Easy to talk while sampling a wide array of German wines. Good snacks to go with the wine.

While visiting our German family they suggested this place. The staff was wonderful. Very accommodating for a party of 16. We had the stone oven baked pizzas. They were 6 Euros. A pizza that size in the USA is $12. They kept our drinks filled. The owner came over to say hello. We all did after dinner shots. Nobody had heartburn that night. It was a great memory.

i enjoyed lots ot visits by da pino, the fresh salad and the pizzas are really tasty. Delicious. Prices are avergae to others. during summer always full with guests. Try your luck and enjoy !
