This is a simple, charming little resturant serving what is easily the best pizzza in Barnet.We both had starters of portabello mushroom with goats cheese followed by tiramisu for dessert both of which were also very good, as was the friendly service and overall experience.Drinks wise, we had a very pleasant bottle of red wine for under £13 which tasted far better than more expensive wines served in many other eateries. We look forward to returning to work our way through the menu!

Staying in the Ramada next door I was struggling for options for an evening meal when I decided to head here.I went for a spicy pizza which was poor, not very spicy and pretty average tasting. Large bottle of Peroni and £7 which was ridiculous as you can get 3 for £5 in a nearby super market. Not up to the usual Pizza Express standards.

The restaurant I had a reservation for being closed, I stepped in here. Took a long time to be served. The prawns with the rice were good and tasty. But when I asked for Tiramisu I was served a goulash soup ...Hi, We're glad you enjoyed our food! Not sure what happened with your tiramisu, we can only apologise. You're welcome to bring any mistakes to the attention of staff and we'll always do our best to rectify.We hope to see you again.

Based on the Trip Advisor rating we visited Melange for the first time today. There were for of us in our party, my 6 year old, me and my parents. My son ordered tomato pasta with cheese from the childrenâs menu. I ordered a fresh tuna salad, my mother ordered the ravioli and my father the fillet steak. It was busy at the time (although not at capacity) and we waited a rather long time for the food to arrive. My fatherâs meal looked good and was a standard generous portion. My mother and sonâs arrived with the smallest stater sized portions. Immediately I mentioned to the waitress that served us that my sonâs portion was really tiny. She shrugged and said âthatâs the portion we giveâ you can order another meal of the same. I told her no thank you because I didnât want to pay twice just to get a standard sized child portion and that the one provided was more akin to a 2 year old and not a 6 year old. My mother was too polite to say anything about her 3-4 pieces of ravioli until the end of the meal. We requested Parmesan (again) as it hadnât arrived. My tuna steak salad arrived with the tuna well done. I had specifically requested it pink inside. I cut into it and told the waitress it was well done. She told me that I must have requested it that way!! I assured her that I wasnât lying and backed up my my family (how horrendous) she took it away to get it replaced. I was so upset at being accused of lying and if it wasnât for us waiting for so long to get to this point, we would have left there and then. 5 mins later and with only a couple of forkfuls of my sonâs miserly meal, the Parmesan arrived. A little for my son and the waitress leaned right over my father mid meal to put some on my motherâs plate. My mother had to ask her not to lean over him but to walk to the other side of the small table. Surely this is a basic of waitressing. My tuna arrived when 2 of the 4 meals had finished. I ended up giving half of mine to my hungry little boy. Feeling so ripped off we didnât order dessert, paid our bill without the 12.5% service which was slapped on for us and left hungry. We will not return and I feel incensed enough by the experience to leave this negative review. Let me think of a positive to say... the decor was nice and the toilet was clean. Sad that the most enjoyable part of this ârestaurantâ experience was going for a wee! :-(Dear KoopyKof, Thank you for taking the time to provide us with your feedback regarding your recent experience at Melange. Our kitchen and floor staff work tirelessly to provide our customers with the best possible experience and when in return we receive positive feedback the entire team are over the moon. We serve circa 100 customers each day so naturally sometimes we do make mistakes and we are sorry to read that we failed to meet your expectations. However, from time to time we receive negative feedback which we deem unfair and we feel that regardless of our efforts we would still fail to meet the expectations of some customers. From looking at your previous reviews, 23 of the 35 posted are graded 3* and below (19 were deemed Terrible. Ouch) Surely the person cannot be that unlucky choosing the places to visit? Regarding portion size trying to balance portion size with food quality whilst at the same time offering our menu items at a price deemed reasonable by our customers is a challenge. What we do not want to do is sacrifice the quality of our food given we feel this is of upmost importance. We are however pleased to hear you enjoyed our bathroom facilities; we will continue maintaining our restrooms to the highest possible standards We wish you and your family all the best

Since my last review they have consolidated their menu and kept it pizza based. For a local well priced Italian this has consistently delivered on their takeaway pizzas and my fussy boys will now choose their pizzas with real ingredients over the local pizza chains. Well done! And the pizzas turn up piping hot!

Our pasta dishes tasted of fresh, quality ingredients: delicious and reasonably priced (£10-14). A recommended (organic) Italian red wine was a great match for the food and also very reasonably priced. Friendly service, welcoming service made us feel like we were in rural Italy and had stumbled upon an excellent local cucina. We will definitely return soon to try some more dishes.

Whole experience is Italian. The menu is what most Britâs would identify as Italian both in its 4 course layout and items available. The wine - a dry red - was very good too. Food served in a timely manner by friendly courteous staff. Above average is atmosphere and styling - good quality table cloths, serviettes and glasses etc. Will be going back. A group of five of us booked a table for a Hen Do on the back of the last meal I had here which was superb. Unfortunately this time it was POOR! The starters were very good but the main courses lacked flavour, were poorly presented. The portion size of the potatoes was child sized - we requested more which we duely received - they were hot and good and 10 times better than those on our plates but we were also charged. I guess we should have said at the time we were dissatisfied but didn't want to make a fuss it being a celebration of our friend's forthcoming wedding,
