We hesitate to order seafood in a restaurant that is in a land locked state and located in a small town. I took a risk and won. I ordered the Zuppa Di Pesce ($16) which is shrimp, mussels and clams sautéed in white wine with marinara sauce. Very tasty although the white wine did thin the red sauce significantly. Most of diners I observed were eating Calzones($9) They are so large a couple shared just one for their meal. On the front window they advertise as "The House of Calzones" (11 are listed on the menu). The total menu is huge including 9 listed pizzas and 7 kids meals for about $6. I would definitely eat here again if in the area.

I grew up in Sciotoville, and Giovanni's was a staple of my childhood. Little League pizza parties, after school events, Friends' birthday parties, and the occasional take-out night when mom didn't want to cook. I mention all that because my visit yesterday after fifteen years of living out of town was as if not a year had passed. The consistency of the food is remarkable. Thankfully, the food is excellent, so that consistency is a great thing. Try the pizza, of course, but the sandwiches are the best. The hot ham and cheese is my absolute favorite sandwich, period. Also, don't leave without both a chocolate and peanut butter no bake cookie. Phenomenal!!! Highly recommend if you're anywhere near the Portsmouth/New Boston/Sciotoville/Wheelersburg areas.

I understand that the point is Mexican and Italian food but they need to focus on one or the other because both types are suffering because of this "fusion" approach. This place was so bad I almost left. Had I not been accompanied by a friend, I would have.
Stopped by Rapid Fired Pizza in Portsmouth, Ohio today (Memorial Day 2018) with my mother and son. We ordered two pizza's and before I could get drinks, plates, etc. our pizzas were ready and waiting for us. WOW! Better than how fast they were done were how delicious that they turned out. They put the toppings on top of the cheese so after I dressed my pizza with my favorite toppings I asked for cheese on top of the toppings. (0.75 cents extra) New Favorite Pizza place in Portsmouth!
