Whether it's just a glass of good wine & superlative snacks, an imaginative salad or pasta, or some beautifully-prepared local fish or meat,Il Brigantino is the place to go. A favourite of locals, the lovely young couple who run it, Alfonso & Laura (who speaks English well), will make you feel welcome.

Chilli Pepper proposes you a choice of rich wines, from all over Italy, sought after distillates and handmade beers, besides the good food.
We were walking and we saw that restaurant with table outside. We looked at the menu and decided to try. It was a GREAT choice. My husband asked the owner what he suggested for a dish of the region and was really happy with it. We loved it so much that we went again the next day. By far that was the restaurant we liked the best in Calabria. Great food, good wine and nice peoples = The dolce vita

We spent a month in Southern Italy and visited many restaurants. In this part of the world, all restaurants have similar menu, you will not find anything fancy... after a while you get used to the seafood spaghetti, fish, calmari, scalpi etc... They all look and taste the same, but. . . not in Anema e Core. We had the best seafood, fresh, plenty of shripms and clams, great sause. The dishes are slightly more expensive than at the competition, but worth it. Pizzas were also very good and we loved the top quality desserts. I am still thinking about this taste and will return to this restaurant when next time in the area. I do recommend it as a nice, family friendly, authentic place.

Just around the corner from the main square but a world of difference from the mass market restaurants in the square. This small restaurant offers top class cooking, service and wine. It's slightly more expensive but worth seeking out.

We were on vacations with our family in Calabria and causally bumped into this gem this Easter. Chef Guiseppe provides a delightful atmosphere in a tastefuly decorated restaurant. We had a 5 Course menu with exquisite local wine and fresh seafood. We were treated like royalty and had a meal fit for kings. The ingredient combinations of one of our dishes was fennel and licorice...creative, unexpected and simply delicious.I would highly recommend this establishment to food connosseurs who enjoy splurging on succulent food.

We fell across this seafood restaurant whilst looking for a park to the Piedigrotta Church below. We were ravenous and were directed by delightful Giuseppe, the parking attendant, to visit his uncleâs restaurant across the road and therefore, the parking was free! The view was spectacular over the ocean and the home cooked food of mussels and seafood spaghetti was tasty, fresh and delicious. We had time to kill as the Church was not open so Giuseppe organised a Tuk Tuk driver to show us around town which was such a delight and the driver kindly let us walk and meet him at the end of the square. Unfortunately our time was restricted and would love to revisit especially the restaurant who received a lot of comments from diners who left with a smile on their face! Grazie Mille!

We came as a group for a demonstration of how the famous Tartufo is made and had a generous portion. We came back the next day and had another - it was so good.Bar Dante was established in 1940 - so must be the oldest in Pizzo .Lovely situation on the Piazza della Repubblica.Well recommended.

Had a great lunch in Pizzo at Pepe Nero. The owners were there, very involved and paying attention to everyone on the terrace. The âgeneralâ was clearly the Mother of the young guys and the entertainer was clearly the Father. The boys were friendly amd great as well but tou could feel the 40y of experience of their parents. The father used to be a fisherman and used to bring himself the catch of the day.Very very tasty food, very warm place and authentic. Love it!

If you are looking for quality food, great service, friendly atmosphere and moderate bill - this is the place! We tried their food in a group of 8 people over several nights' stay in Pizzo, tasting nearly all their menu! Not once were we disappointed! Enchanted by Eduardo's and Nebil's hospitality and good humour we ate oh soooo well. I totally recommend the food for its freshnes, but also culinary skills of Eduardo and his wife (regretfully, we did not have a chance to meet Cristina herself). We were smitten by all types of pasta, but also fiorentina, crudite di -pesce, swordfish fillet and their lovely icecream with St Germain liqueuer. My poor quality photographs only confirm that I was too engrossed in eating and enjoying myself to bother about taking photos ;-) We made some lovely memories in Hedo :-) Eduardo, Cristina e Nebil, cari saluti dalla Polonia! Sarebbe bello tornare da voi :-)
