On a day trip around Enna, I was able to book lunch for our group (we were seven) at this restaurant, after three failed attempts in other properties (evidently mid-August, outside the coastal areas, is considered in Sicily low season for tourists, therefore many restaurants are closed).Precisely because there were seven of us, we are able to express an opinion on a large number of dishes; and this opinion is largely positive.Let's start with the flaws (a few). In a "bruschetta" brought as an appetizer, the bread was singed (it was immediately replaced). A side dish of grilled vegetables, which I ordered, never arrived (and obviously it was not included in the bill). The other sides are all positive. The beef was appreciable, as evidenced by the four ribs, cooked in various ways, and the two stewed lamb ("castrato") that we tasted. A type of pasta typical of western Sicily, called "busiata", with swordfish and other ingredients, was ordered by four of us: it was delicious. Finally the desserts were all excellent, up to the fame of Sicilian cuisine in this sector. Then the bill, 200 euros all included for seven people, seemed to us perfectly adequate.

We dined here twice on our recent visit to Pergusa and received an exceptionally warm welcome on both occasions. The staff certainly go out of their way to please. On the first night we ate swordfish which was absolutely wonderful - moist and perfectly cooked. On the second evening we had the local bean pasta and salads. The meals were really good value for money. There was no 'menu' as such and we were given a choice of foods available each evening. The choice was not huge but sufficient. The dining room of this hotel is huge but retains a friendly feel even when only a few people are in it which was the case on both nights that we were there. We would definitely return for a basic, inexpensive meal in extremely friendly surroundings.

We arrived here late on a Sunday lunchtime at the end of September and could not believe the crowds of people and cars pouring in. It was a race day on the Pergusa motor racing circuit so there were hundreds of people attending this and milling around. There was also a large wedding party arriving plus what appeared to be a conference as well as large local lunch parties. We never thought we would ever get food! Yet the staff were absolutely wonderful and looked after us superbly even though we only wanted a simple meal. Our home-made pasta with cheese and parsley with salads was absolutely delicious and the wine excellent. We recommend this place wholeheartedly.

We had an excellent traditional Sicilian meal with the help of a wonderful waiter who speaks superb English and understands the history of Sicily. A delightful evening before we leave bello Sicily.
