The main industry is metallurgy. Ostrowiec is the capital city of Ostrowiec Świętokrzyski County, part of Świętokrzyskie Voivodeship (since 1999), previously it belonged to Kielce Voivodeship (1975–1998). It received town charter in 1613.

the pizzas are very nice and very cheap in price but good in quality freindly service and after you have eaten your food nip next dood to the night club

To be honest not too many options are available when looking for nice food spot in Ostrowiec. So we were surprised hearing there is new place that serves cousins with strong Arabic influence. Mutabel, octopus and grilled lamb in cherry sauce are great.Highly advise to book table ahead as it seems to be popular place (we have been there on Sunday).

Good solid Polish food which is fortunate as this is the only decent restaurant in the whole town; there is a restaurant in the Gromada Hotel in the town centre but this is better. Recommended.
