First we have to congratulate these from origin Afghan family, that had left their country as fugitives, and that have integrated themselves very well into our belgian society, while cooking like here in Flanders, and speaking correct Flemish. They'll certainly will wpeak other languages too. Five years agoo they took this restaurant near the Camping Doornpanne in Koksijde over from an older couple, and they have restyled it, as well inside as for outside sitting and eating. We saw the evening before it was full, so my wife and I came back on wednesday, had no reservation (you better should) and we ordered a nice steak seignant for my wife and for me a piece of hamleg with musterdsauce. We both got belgian handmade fries. We drink sparkling water, found it all well cooked, the sitting inside surely comftable, and paid only 39 â¬. (ask for your VTA-ticket; I forgot). So, well done, we'll come back after reservation. I will ask than for an original Afghan dish, to learn about. (There is no Afghan food on their card).

After a day of excursions we decided to enter this good looking restaurant serving Italian food. The first disapointment is the size of the printed menu card a cjear indication of a sizeable freezer. But the worst was still to come. We ordered two pizze, more than balf of which remained on the plate , The quality of the ingredientswas so poor that as a result i spent the night overthrowing the part that I had eaten. Service was absent the waiters busy chatting with each other...

Strange setting, no welcome, a long hall, the setting is nothing to write home about. We were served an amuse-bouche in a rather brusque manner, without a word of explanation as to what was in it (and it wasn't very tasty ... so it was difficult to determine for yourself). We said we wanted wine by the glass, and the owner came with a bottle he had just openend (but not at our table ... ?!?). We were too polite to protest, and eager to start celebrating the evening together ... we should have returned the bottle. When we complained later on, we were told they would only charge for half a bottle (this became 20 euros, for a nondescript bottle my wine app does not recognize, thus this would have been 40 euros for the full bottle , a true rip-off.) The osso buco was good, well prepared, the other pasta dish very bland and both are overpriced. But then the service, ... they go to orther tables and don't notice that you are trying to catch their attention. When I asked for salt, the waitress went looking all over, then ran to the kitchen, then back "dans la salle", then she finally had to ask someone else ... worth a video gag to see her search for salt for about two minutes ..). The owner is not much better when serving wine or clearing the table. Twice he hit my elbow without apologizing ... When on our way out at the entrance, we paid our overpriced bill, and mentioned that the staff still had to learn a lot, the owner managed to blame it all on the waitress ... "yes, I know, I would probably be better off without her here tonight" ! So if you go, be careful, check everything, and be prepared for chaotic service. We hope they will improve, but we will not try to find out ourselves.Dear customer i dont understand because you make a reviews in english and not in French....I have to speak French with you this evening... Maybe you want to make a international reviews for everybody... Good idea.. In us restaurant normally we work only with menu in the week end. Special for you i have to serve dishes a là carte. I open a special bottle for a special request of fresh red wine... You want to take away the botlle and i say no problem you can to pay what to drink. I don't like people like you sorry. You cannot Judge my profesionnality en my education. I love reading the reviews because they help to improve...not in this situation....Your bild? 1 ossobuco of veal with home made pasta 27 euro, 1 home made tortelloni butter, salie, ricotta and spinach 19 euro, 1 bottle water 7 euro and 20 euro for 1/2 red quality wine....too cheap!!!!best regards Claudio Acquaro
