It is located some 25 kilometers north east of Geneva's city centre, and since the 1970s it has become part of the Geneva metropolitan area. It lies on the shores of Lake Geneva and is the seat of the district of Nyon. The town has (as of December 2016) a population of 20,272. It is connected to the rest of Switzerland by way of the Route Suisse, the A1 Motorway and the railways of the Arc Lémanique.

Lovely sunny March day but a chill breeze from the west so we chose Le Grand Café for lunch outside because the breeze was blocked by the building and glass panels. I had a delicious aubergine with tomato and cheese sauce. The home-made pasta also looked very good. The Café was busy with groups of friends also enjoying the sunshine and the waiters were helpful and welcoming. We enjoyed our visit.

Interior design niceStaff not knowledgeable at all about food choice - not qualified as server.Several dishes indicated on the menu are not available or wrongly prepared (wrong ingredients).Greek salad service with a white french sauce ...Staff complaining about their franchise systemall in all - there are much better choices next door and elsewhere in the areaThanks for your comment that caught and kept our attention. We apologize for those inconveniences that you faced. We had some difficulties at the beginning we the new staffs but today everything has been fixed. The menu was created for all Pizza Leggera restaurants but unfortunatly it was not entirely adequate for Nyon thatâs why we have adapted a new one that will be available end of September. We hope you will make a new experience in Pizza Leggera Nyon and notice by yourself the change.Best regardsPizza Leggera team

This slick auberge sits in the shadow of the striking local chateau. Not the most cheerful of staff on our two visits. But the service was quick enough. And, sitting out on the terrace, it was great to watch the world and his brothers and sisters walk - or in some cases totter - by on their very expensive heels.

Service staff is always pleasant and upbeat. The menu has a good variety of appetizers, pizza, pasta and meat dishes. Portions are average.A little expensive for the dishes, but it's in Switzerland, so it's expected!

The Café des Alpes offers one of the best Valentine's Day menus in the area, and does so at an affordable price. We thoroughly enjoyed the appetizer, 'trilogy of the sea' starter, the beef with (generous) shavings of black truffles and polenta, and the dessert. Our daughter enjoyed her (equally generous) pasta dish. Select a red or white wine from the extensive list of Italian wines on offer, and you cannot go wrong.

My daughter has had lunch - kids lunch to be precise - with my wife on a few past occasions, and I recently went with her for dinner. Her childrens' dish of spaghetti with cream-ham-sauce was on the very heavy side, and she could not finish the portion. My filets de perche were decidedly bland and chewey, and although I did not ask specifically, I do not think the perches were from Lake Geneva. I asked for rice rather than french fries , and the rice was a little on the soggy side. Service was fine at the beginning, but when i asked for the bill, the latter took very long in arriving.....

I have been here now for 2 consecutive evenings. The pizzas are fantastic and the service has been excellent. I am going to be a frequent visitor to Nyon on business, so this place will be my eatery of choice.

This is not a fine dining place but one where you can taste Italian finger food. We took our daughter and her friends there for a birthday party lunch. Warm bread, a good selection of Italian charcuterie, cheeses, grilled or marinated vegetables, plus a tiramisu as dessert that got the thumbs up of the kids... would not go here for dinner but the concept is interesting, and service is friendly.
