Murmansk (Russian: Му́рманск, IPA: [ˈmurmənsk]; Kildin Sami: Мурман ланнҍ; Northern Sami: Murmánska; Skolt Sami: Muurman) is a port city and the administrative center of Murmansk Oblast in the far northwest part of Russia. It sits on both slopes and banks of a modest ria or fjord, Kola Bay, an estuarine inlet of the Barents Sea. Its bulk is on the east bank of the inlet. It is in the north of the rounded Kola Peninsula which covers most of the Oblast (semi-autonomous region). The city is 67 miles (108 km) from the border with Norway and 113 miles (182 km) from the Finnish border. The city is named for the Murman Coast; an archaic term in Russian for Norwegian.

Restaurant is good, food is alright and ambience also.BUT: BEWARE of taxis ordered from the restaurant: we asked the waiter to call us a taxi, but it turned out he called some accomplice with fake taximeter. What a shame!

The most popular but the best net of restaurants in Murmansk. This net good corresponds sociology of Murmansk: neither aristocracy, nor beggars. Kitchen for Russian middle class: village design, meat, much meat, beer, big portions. But for many years a part of Murmansk citizens are tired a little from Kruzka and last year we see experiments to add sushi, non traditional dishes, cakes etc. But the nuclear electorate is faithful long term hits: sausages for students, pork steaks, salmon steaks and salad "Caesar". Ever if you don't like and avoid Kruzka, somebody invites you.

2-stored complex of bar, restaurant and bowling. At the ground floor- bar with discussible design mixed of Victorian style and antique. Plus- serious men, expensive prostitutes and a little bit cheaper alcohol drinks. Upstairs - bowling and restaurant. Kitchen here- rather good!

Very democratic place with nice variety of food and drinks. Prices are affordable quality of food is very good. Relaxed atmosphere, just the music is a bit too loud, which is no wonder as after 23:00 it turns into sort of disco. But still worth visiting.

After reading a couple of reviews on TripAdvisor, we found our way to this café to have dinner. Everything tasted delicious, the pork steak in particular. The place is small and possibly not the place you choose to stop by just from the look of it, but well worth a visit.
Wine bar with Italian cuisine. Large assortment of wines, grape distillates. Aperitif cocktails, fruit beer, cider. Various lemonades and mineral water

I have been in Las Galetas several times during the last years (latest in June 2010). This is a great place, situated slightly outside the centre of Murmansk and thus is easily accessible by public transport or taxi. The atmosphere is relaxed and pleasant, but sometimes can be noisy. The menu essentially refers to Russian and pan-European kitchen, even though it seems like the chief is not afraid to improvise in fusion style. Mind you, starters and deserts are usually quite good in this place, so do not skip them. The price has been steadily increasing throughout the last years, but still is acceptable. The waiters are fairly OK, polite and attentive, remember to tip the granny standing in the wardrobe :)

Good choice if you like to have some non russian food in Murmansk.Service, like most of the services in russia has some space for improvement. The Pizza was ok. The restaurant itself looks clean and holds a little too much of dust collectibles.I guess, they call it russian charme.Nevertheless, a good and fair pick.
