We were very impressed with this casual Italian restaurant hidden in a strip mall. Parking was ample as it shares a lot with other businesses. Very casual atmosphere, we seated ourselves for dinner and it appeared about half-full. Staff was very friendly and menu had plenty of options for adults and kids. We ordered "The Pie Combo" pizza (similar to a Supreme with a good mix of toppings) as well as kids meals of Spaghetti with meatball and grilled cheese. The pizza was very good, with a good crust and fresh toppings. The meatball was homemade and very tasty with the spaghetti. The grilled cheese was HUGE and the kids both loved it. Prices are decent, and we definitely recommend.

Nuvolariâs is a warm and inviting Italian restaurant, nestled on the Northshore of New Orleans in Old Mandeville. For over 33 years, loyal customers have enjoyed Italian food, friendship and celebrations around our tables. Nuvolariâs menu features traditi

Authentic Sicilian dining in the heart of Mandeville! Enjoy a warm, friendly atmosphere, top-notch service and delicious meals prepared by Chef Leonardo Giarraputo. Chef Leonardoâs culinary expertise stretches back to his youth in Santa Margherita di Beli
There was a time when you found this type of "Sicilian Cuisine" all over New Orleans. And there are still a lot of examples still there (Faust's, Vincent's and Irene's just to name a few, although Irene's is more eclectic) And a lot of New Orleanians moved to the Northshore and found this type of cuisine few and far between. Enter Leonardo's Trattoria and you understand why this place is so popular. He named it "trattoria" for a reason...it's not a fancy ristorante, it's a cafe with very limited seating (I guess around 50 seats or so). The kitchen is small but plenty big enough to accommodate his faithful patrons to this humble abode. Inside it's well decorated in "trattoria decor", dark wood tables and chairs with no tableclothes. The rustic bar seats 5 (I think) and is used for singles dining. It's a nice, pleasant space. The menu is pretty much what your Noni (Italian grandmother) would have served her family...standard stars like Veal Parm, lasagna, fresh made pastas, pizza, flat breads, soups, salads, picatta, pesto and cream sauces. All executed superbly, coming to the table steaming hot, well presented and generous. Everyone I saw there took home a doggie box. The caesar salad was lightly dressed using only the inner, tender leaves of romaine. Fried calamari was top notch served with marinara and a half of a lemon. Veal was a large, fried round that covered the plate. Was it a processed patty? I couldn't tell but for $14 I wasn't complaining. Dessert was a splendid cannoli flavored with a hint of lemon. The ricotta filling was whipped to an airy lightness that set it apart from any I had had before elsewhere. The espresso is worth just the trip alone. Service is friendly, no nonsense and very efficient. We dined at an off time around 3pm on a weekday...weekends must be crazy for the waitstaff and crew. The prices are phenomenal. We got a large plate of calamari, (enough for 4), Veal Parmigiana with pasta, lasagna (lunch portion with a salad (both for $8!), 2 double espressos, two iced teas, 2 cannoli and a bottle of Chianti for under $100 plus they also serve you bread with an olive oil dipping sauce. We seriously suggest you try to dine on their off hours if possible. Even the normal lunch hour on the weekdays is packed. It's located in the back area of a corner strip mall. The crape myrtles by the road have grown tall enough to obscure his signage. Also using Google Maps we experienced a minor hiccup in her directions to this parking lot. If you are familiar to the area Leonardo's is right next to the Mandeville Emergency Vet Clinic. The only negative I can come up with is that I found the red sauce to be a tad too salty since they top most dished with parmigiana too.

I generally don't give any establishment more than two screw ups. Well this Olive Garden (most are very good for chain restaurants) is pitiful, but after four consecutive bad visits no more. They can not get an order correct nor can they provide a hot meal with any consistency. And, most servers and those that prepare the meals have no idea of the meaning of "gluten free".

Had the arugula salad with pecorino cheese (average) and the veal osso buco which was above average with beautifully prepared meat, a delicious rich sauce with peas. A spoon was placed in the marrow for even greater richness. Friendly service completed the experience. This is a popular place and was virtually full at only 5:30 pm. Worth a visit.

I've been to both the Mandeville and New Orleans locations several times. The photo shown here is the New Orleans location - which certainly has a different ambience. That aside, the food is great. They often have good lunch specials. Friendly and attentive service - I enjoy both locations.
If you ever find yourself visiting or just staying overnight in a hotel on the North shore area of New Orleans (Mandeville-South Covington) and don't want to order the same old, ho-hum, national chain pizza delivery do you self a favor and it take it from this thirty year traveler of America and the world. Get yo' self some of this amazing Pie! As an old guy who's spent months at a time working in Chicago and NYC, over many years, I will attest that this is the the best pizza I've ever had delivered! I can only imagine how good the rest of the menu must be and wish I had visited the Restaurant! Next time I'm here I will!

I was at a late meeting and my wife out of town, finally came on a 1$ slice night and listened to Casey Saba's one man band play.I got a 12" diameter pepperoni pizza sliced into 6 slices for $6, not much more than the Abita Purple Haze I got to go with it.And it was very fast.Great review. Thank you so much. Hope we see you again soon.

Went with my son. Had been telling him for a year how much I enjoyed the restaurant. finally, we got a party of four together. Him, my grandson, my next door neighbor and myself. They have a fixed price menu which offers five courses. Appetizer, pasta, entre, salad and desert. One better than the other. Veal dishes are especially delicious. The owner is always there, and he showed us his Saints Super Bowl championship ring. Lots of sport and celebrity memorability in the restaurant. A good choice!!!

In 1979, after over 20 years of experience in the restaurant industry, Joe Impastato opened Impastato's in Metaire. Only 5 years before, his brother Sal opened Sal and Judy's in Lacombe. Now the family of restaurants extends to Madisonville with the openi
There really is nothing not to like at Impastato Cellars. The place is clean, well furnished, the Entire staff is prompt, friendly, attentive and seem to have a full knowledge of the menu.. We ordered traditional Italian dishes, it was delivered promptly, piping hot and quite tasty. The wine selection is extensive, as the desert menu. I believe the prices for this area and this type restaurant are competitive. All in all an excellent dining experience.
