So I actually went here two nights in a row.The carpaccio I ordered as a starter uses good ingredients, nice oil, Parmigiano-Reggiano cheese, proper filet steak meat. However, it tasted salty ! Tried the oil on its own, alright. Then the meat, alright. So it's been seasoned with salt, very weird and never experienced this before !Main dish steak with mushrooms was very tasty, as were the rosemary seasoned potatoes. However, the salad was really salty, again I can't understand why you would like to season a salad with salt ?I had to say something about this, as they definitely use good ingredients and prepare nice food.Luckily the owners were very open to my comments, and the salad was replaced immediately. As we talked about it, they told me it's what most Germans want, as they typically asked for salt in the past. If I were them, would put salt on the table, but definitely not over-salt their dishes, such a shame.Liked the Barbera d'Alba wine and good espresso !Second night I returned and everything was perfect. Very tasty and tender american steak, nice ruccola, Parmigiano-Reggiano and aged balsamic, accompanied by homemade green colored noodle pasta. Yummy.Got a very smooth and tasty grappa after the meal, even though I'm not really a fan of grappa, I could tell this was good quality. Will definitely return when visiting Kempen again.

I ate with my family there on a summer day. We were able to sit outside in the garden which was quite lovely. The staff is nice and the food is good - nothing special but always good for good meal with your friends and family.
Finally, the real Italian is back in Straelen. With his personality, great Italian food in a family setting. For starter we shared an nice bruschetta, for mains my girlfriend had here favorite Spaghetti Scoglio, and I had the canneloni with ricotta and spinach.Simple but honest and tasty food, just the way it has to be.Happy they are back, will come again for sure!

I like to eat pizza or vegetable casserole there. Never had a bad dish. It's nothing special but it doesn't have to be something new and exciting. A good kitchen is worth a lot. But what I absolutely adore there is their almond parfait. I always have this dish for dessert no matter what ;)

Although the restaurant is somewhat small and inconspicuous from the outside, Umberto's pasta and pizza taste really, really good. The first time we ordered some takeaway food there, I admit I was a little dubious about it. What a surprise, therefore, when it turned out to be quite delicious - tasty, freshly made pasta and wonderful, steaming hot pizza. While waiting for this food, we were offered something to drink and were all entertained with Umberto's singing - in true Italian manner! The atmosphere inside this little restaurant is friendly and warm. It's worth a visit. And - you don't have to dress up either, if you don't feel like it. Very pleasant.

Nice ambience & atmosphere, good serviceThe service is very good and personal. Price is "OK", the pizza's were perfectly round, but much smaller than usual and did have a soft crust (we prefer original italian thin crusty crusts).1 pizza is not enough for 1 adult, so please be aware of this. The taste of the pizza's were just "OK", nothing special. A pizza that completely tastes sour due to the capers is not balanced and definitely not my deal (no it was not a sourdough pizza!).We have not tried pasta's or meat dishes; maybe these dishes have better taste.

The "Zum Schwan" is a bistro with a daily changing menu - but we also offer for wines and delicatessen items, which you can buy in our wine and delicacies shop. Our bistro does not only allow you to enjoy a relaxing tasting of selected extraordinary wines
A modern and friendly wine bar/ bistro. Although a little pricey well worth it as the food is amazing and fresh offering modern international cuisine

We arrived early just after opening at 6pm, so we could choose whether to eat in or outside in the rear garden area. Since it was a nice sunny evening we decided to take a table in the garden. The Restaurant is located in a small tidy village opposite the church and it is very easy to park close by. The staff were all very friendly and polite and the food was delicious in generous portions. Glad that we arrived early because the Restaurant soon became very busy by the time we left at 7:30pm, so I would recommend booking if dining after 7pm.
