Although no longer in business this was the most authentic sandwich shop this side of NYC. I really wish it was still in business!

The Greek Salad was delicious, and generous in portion size. The place is clean, ample parking and on a busy street. You order at the counter and pay, then they deliver your food. The cashier even checked back with us a few times.Definitely will return.

We stopped Friday night for pizza and a beer. Decided to try the chicken broccoli alfredo pizza. When it arrived, there was a pool of watery sauce in the middle of the pie. We each took a slice and liquid poured off it. The alfredo sauce was thin and watery, and the broccoli on top of the pizza was lukewarm I suspect that frozen broccoli was put on top of the pie and all the water pooled on top. The crust was like a sponge and the pizza was inedible. The server agreed the pizza wasn't right and did offer to remake it, but we didn't have time to wait. Our check was dicounted although I do think it should have been totally comped. We won't be going back in the near future since a previous visit was also less than satisfactory.

I should probably preface this review with the fact that I am a Culinary Nutritionist and I was born and raised in Southern CT and am, therefore, familiar with many different styles of pizza and many, many different Italian joints. Amicci's, unfortunately, missed the mark on taste and quality for our meal and we probably wouldn't go back.First, the Pros: Our order was correct, it was ready for pickup when it should have been, and the portions were large for the price. The staff was friendly and accommodating, as well, and the restaurant (though it doesn't have a dining room per se) was clean and bright. As far as the food goes, the ingredients were fresh (no stale bread here!) and the things we ordered looked appetizing and smelled good. The Cons: I have never, ever in my life had such a salty salad. Don't get me wrong, I enjoy some salt when appropriate. I ordered The Tuna Salad on a Salad so it's not like i wasn't expecting SOME salt. It was so salty, in fact, that I asked my husband and father-in-law (who has burned out taste buds) to try it to make sure I wasn't just being dramatic. They both coughed and sputtered and were blown away by how salty it was. My Father in Law asked if they had perhaps rinsed it with salt water...that's how violent the salt taste was. Needless to say, it was inedible. Fresh and delicious looking and smelling, but absolutely inedible. The pizza was....not good. There was barely any cheese to be found on the pizza at all, yet plenty of crust to go around. My husband and I both remarked how the meatballs looked like dog kibble on top of the pizza and, while we had a good laugh, it was not appetizing...even though it smelled delicious. Upon tasting it, both my man and his Dad topped out at 2 pieces and didn't want any more, even though they were still hungry. We also got a chicken parmesan grinder and struggled to find the cheese amongst the breading on the chicken and the sauce. The taste was decent, but my stomach wasn't having any of it because I ate too much salt on the salad so I had to decline another bite. All that being said, the things I found fault with can be easily rectified or be someone else's personal preference for a delicious meal. If you go, I hope you have a better meal that we did:)

When I read that Nicola's had been purchased and would be experiencing turnover in staff, I was concerned that service and/or flavor and quality might suffer. I was mostly please. (I will get back to that.) The main course, eggplant parmesan, was incredible, well spiced, perfectly cooked. (Here comes the mostly.) The calamari and the dipping sauce were delightful until I found a long blond hair in with the seafood. I alerted our server who immediately apologized and offered to have another serving prepared, which he did. It came to the table and we resumed our enjoyment of the dish. However, I must confess, I was surprised to see that the calamari had not been removed from the bill.

We arrived and were immediately seated, The menu was comprehensive. Our waitress arrived to take drink orders and tell us what the evening's specials were. After we ordered, the salads and rolls with a dipping sauce arrived quickly. The waitress checked on us while we ate the salad. The main course was absolutely wonderful. I had one of the specials, the lobster ravioli. It was absolutely delicious, with lobster in the ravioli, as well as mixed with the creamy sauce. My dinner companion had the Chicken Francaise. It was equally excellent. The portions were huge. The waitress was conscientious and friendly. The restaurant was very busy.

If you eat at a restaurant frequently, odds are you're gonna have a less-than-stellar experience EVENTUALLY.... unless you're at Luca's Mediterranean Cafe. Tonite I had a special made with a wonderfully THICK piece of halibut... one of my favorites. It was prepared with a golden brown crispy outer layer, moist and firm inside on a bed of tomato butter, couscous & arugula. What a treat--- I understand all this excellence was achieved with the new sous chef, Shamar, on deck for his first night solo! BRAVO!!! While all fine dining establishments should be able to deliver meals at the proper temperature, we all know it takes high standards, attentive servers and a cohesive team to make it happen consistently. Thank you to the ENTIRE team for always delivering my meal piping hot, the way I love it! You never cease to amaze me!
