A group of us went to Padallino during a recent visit to Ettlingen. The food was flavorful and light, unlike most American Italian restaurants. Service and prompt and friendly. It seems to be a favorite of the locals as it was bursting by 8:30 pm. I highly recommend the antipasti and the salads.

This was new find for me. Apparently it has just opened in this location and stumbled across it by chance. The cuisine is Italian. The menu is selective but excellent. To an American, the Italian may be more recognizable than the German on the menu. While I love Padallino, this is a smaller and more refined atmosphere and food. Enjoy.

Live right down the street from the restraunt so on Friday nights we would walk there. Always busy, great atmostphere, great service. They are from Italy. They speak Italian and German. But always have someone there that speaks English. Love their menu, variety of many things. From pizza, fish, steak, spagetti and flamkuchen. Everything we have ordered we have been very satisfied.

I went here with a party of five and we enjoyed the reserved yet attentive hospitality, the quiet atmosphere and of course the beautiful and tasty food. The waiter friendly guides the guests through their selection of drinks and food.Around 10 tables occupy the room and there is room anough to walk between them withouth disturbing other guests. Suffice to say that conversations from nearby tables remain private. The food is of a rare quality. The cooking is obviously done with heart and soul, ie. not your regular professional restaurant type of preparation and this gives a very authentic, warming and delicious taste. The menu has a choice of meat, fish and pasta dishes.Servings are on ceramic colored plates or bowls. (I think the food at SAF deserves other i.e. less opresssive kitchenware as well as non paper napkins). I will not get into detail of our meals, go find out yourself, but just highlight the beautiful arancini arranged on a plate with freshly(!) grated parmesan. Succulent, not fat, echnically perfect. Although they rested too long after preparation and had cooled down too much. I suspect it was very busy in the kitchen. The wine list is adequate but nothing fancy. Italian wines are an art in itself and SAF made a fine selection offered for very reasonable prices. I can only heartily recommend the place.

The location is an old style italian restaurant - the service is friendly - but the food is only mediocre.So we probably won't give it a second try.

Es ist eine Vereinsgaststätte und war gut besucht. Insbesondere Pizzen to Go wurden abgeholt. Pizza und Pasta waren gut, das Ambiente ist ok. Für ein schnelles Essen gut geeignet.

I take an extra effort to find this restaurnat. To my surprise the building is empthy and the restaurnat is out of business. If you are in the area, a chineses restaurant is two doors away. Did not try that.

This is a pizza restaurant which offers poor service both at the telephone and in the restaurant. The food is average Italian food with not so much taste and plenty of oil on it.

I went to this restaurant for the first time. It had a very interesting and complete menu of salads, and pasta as well as pizzas. I had a small sald with tuna which was very close to the same quality as those I had in Italy. The only thing was the tuna was abit more Star Kist grade than the grade in Italy. The past with grogozina was very good; just a little rich to eat the entire dish by myself. Would have been perfect for two to split. Will return.
