Reviews on Italian food in Ishigaki, Okinawa Prefecture, Japan. The water around Ishigaki is pure blue, with white sandy beaches to soothe your senses. But don't just stand on the beach and stare. Travelers recommend a ride in a glass-bottomed boat to gaze at the coral reefs and tropical fish from above.

I had the bolognese, tomato salad and garlic roast potatoes (fried?)The bolognese was fresh and generous. The tomato salad was exactly that: a tomato. But blanched and peeled, drizzled with olive oil and something else I can't remember and topped with fresh shaved cheese. This simple dish was oddly fantastic. The potato thing I would not order again. Just over-fried wedges with garlic salt and parmesan.

Moving to such a remote island, I'm prepared to miss out on certain food items of a high standard. Good pizza is often impossible to find in places like Ishigaki. But... lo and behold, Nombiri Cafe!Hand crafted pizzas very reminiscent of Napoli. A little on the wet side for some, but this really hit the spot. I will be a regular!

Food, art and music are the theme for the contemporary restaurant You can enjoy original dishes using island foodstuffs, and the art, the literaly writings and music from all over the world. It can be relaxed to the person with children or woman travelling
Having spent our first night walking around trying to find this restaurant, we were determined to find it on the second attempt and I am so glad we did. Its a quirky restaurant owned and run by a friendly married couple. Fortunately they have an English menu so we settled down and waited for our food. As the previous evening we had only eaten snacks from the local supermarket, I was looking forward to enjoying some fresh food and vegetables. This bar/restaurant combines the couples love for music, art and food in a contemporary setting and we loved the friendly warm atmosphere. Fortunately the food was delicious and I particularly enjoyed the fresh home made carrot sauce, now sold in bottles as well as the freshly made strawberry yoghurt drink. I'm unlikely ever to return to Ishigaki, but if I did, this we be the first restaurant I would head to. Highly recommended.

Everything was delicious. The owner who worked one year in Naples combines Italian Savoir Faire with Japanese ingredients and perfection. The seven appetizers are both from Italy and Japan. The seafood linguini are tasty and all dente. The Osso Bucco was delicious and melting in my mouth. Not to forget the Tiramisu. Unbelievable! The owner and staff are great in service and talkactive in English and Italian. The double expresso perfect and the 28 year old Grappa unforgettable.

It is a cafe and a barbecue where you can see the sea close to the center of Ishigakijima. We offer the best lunch and barbecue dinner on the open terrace where comfortable wind blows through. For lunch, you can eat and café with Okinawa taco rice and ham
This could be a wonderful place to chill for a whole afternoon! The restaurant overlooks the beautiful sea. And it also has a lovely terrace where the customers may fully appreciate the view while dining.Foods and drinks are affordable. A scoop of ice cream costs 450 yen. That for a drink ranges from 400 to 700 yen.One more wonderful thing is: the waiters speak English!!
