With over 25 years experience, Bella Napoli showcases traditional Italian cooking using freshly sourced ingredients of the highest standards.
By no means fine dining and a far cry from traditional Italian cooking. The carbonara was smothered in think double cream and lacking cheese, the lasagne was a sloppy mess with no structure but that being said the staff and service were excellent. The side salads were busy, colourful and fresh and the garlic bread very nice. Please donât visit in search of traditional Italian cooking as this is classic âEnglish - Italianâ and yes whilst edible seriously lacking flavour and finesse. Top marks to the team however, great attitudes to customer service.

Five of us ate at here before the Ipswich game last Tuesday. Iâve never been a massive fan of the chain because the pizzas are pretty average (perhaps a reason for its pending liquidation). However, this was one of the better meals Iâve had at a Pizza Express, which isnât saying a lot. The barbacoa pizza was a decent size with a generous amount of topping, but the dip that came with the polenta fries was more like a salad dressing. Garlic mayo would have been preferable. The food also took a good 20-25 minutes to arrive, which was hardly âexpressâ service given the restaurant was a third full at best. A nice enough meal, but I wonât be rushing back, and I probably wonât be able to soon anyway.

Great selection of food items with very attentive staff. The set menu was great value, especially considering it includes drinks. The crab ravioli was delicious but I'd like a little less sauce... However, I was left a little anxious about tipping as it appeared tipping via card would be split out among all staff and not just the waiter which served us - which was a shame.Overall, great experience.

Decided to have a pre-theatre meal here as my fiancéâs taste card works, even on a Sunday. We booked a table and were seated quickly. Drinks order taken and arrived quickly. Bruschetta starters also arrived quickly. However, my fiancéâs that was ordered without pesto and cheese arrived with cheese. The waitress asked if this was alright or if she wanted a new one. My fiancé asked for a new one. To be fair they did this with no problem but the result was, mine was almost finished when hers arrived. It really was not the finest bruschetta we have ever had. The tomatoes had little flavour and so clearly were not the best quality. The wait for the mains was then substantially longer but we did then receive a free second drink and an explanation that there had been a problem in the kitchen so not the end of the world. We were in no hurry. When they did arrive, my pasta was fine. Not great. Not really enough sauce and it was very runny. My fiancéâs chicken dish had a nice flavour but again, the white wine sauce was more like a runny gravy and the potatoes were very soft, considering they had been cooked enough to be brown. Desserts again were fine. Quite nice.Service was friendly and attentive throughout so canât complain about that. Food was ok. Had we not have used a taste card I would have found it pricey. In fact, even with the taste card it cost enough and it was just ok.
