Find out what Italian restaurants to try in Hewlett. Hewlett is a hamlet and census-designated place (CDP) in Nassau County, New York on the South Shore of Long Island. As of the United States 2010 Census, the CDP population was 6,819. Hewlett Bay Park and Hewlett Harbor consist of many mansions and harbor villas with very large property, a few dating back to the time of the American Revolution. This area, like Back/Old Lawrence is unique because its rural affluence is similar in character to the more well known Gold Coast of the North Shore instead of being more urbanized like the rest of the South Shore of Nassau County.
Things to do in Hewlett
This is a small local resteraunt where the chef and his wife know everybody, serve their own food, and talk and chat thruought the evening. They explain the dishes, answer all questions, and go out of their way to make you feel welcome. And then theirs the food. Every dish we've had there has been delicious. From an incredible osso bucco, to wonderful home made pastas. Fresh breads and salads are great, and the olive oil, garlic, and pepper dip leaves you wanting more. The entrance is small and in the middle of the block on a busy street, but theirs ample parking in the lot behind the building. It's a quiet, small local venue, where you can hear each other, while drinking good wine (can bring your own for a small corkage fee) and eating good food.

Finally, a really good restaurant has landed in the area! Beautifully prepared meals, interesting combinations of flavor, creative desserts, in a setting where it is really possible to sit and talk and enjoy. Attentive service but not intrusive. We hope they'll be around for a while. We will certainly be back.

I lived in this area for several years and visited many years after, somehow this was my first trip to Il Luogo. The homemade pasta was fantastic. My steak was good. They had some excellent wine by the glass at a very reasonable price....baby amarone. We were in heaven. The wait staff was very good. We came on a quiet weeknight and that seems to be the best time if you want the royal treatment. Compliments to the chef and staff, we have been talking favorably about you ever since.

Dont miss this place. Came here with my wife and mother to see if they could host my moms 80th. Stayed for dinner and very glad we did. Paul the host was outstanding. Wait staff was impeccable. Large portions and great price. Food was tops. Favorites: bake clams, tender calamari, eggplant parm and stuff shrimp. A dont miss in Lynbrook.!!

Nice service...upon siiting we were brought 4 pieces of very tasy bruschetta along with a basket of assorted breads.I ordered the scungilli...not readily available (believe it or not) in most Italian restauraunts on Long Island. It was delicious! Also, had a half caraffe of red wine, filled to the top, tasty and very reasonably priced!Decent salad served as a side dish, my wife had soup and pizza all very good!Very friendly service, efficient and prompt. The cost for our dinner was inexpensive and the food was excellent!!!

Pizza is often limp and soggy. French fries are no longer available for the kids and they now have a wine license so they charge $10.00 for corkage. With so many other, much more welcoming restaurants in the neighborhood, why go there !!!

We traveled 30 minutes to get here, so something must be going on....We heard about this place, that it had the most amazing cauliflower pizza crust and unbelievable salads, and the stories are true. The cauliflower pizza with fresh mozzarella, basil and cherry tomato was unbelievable thin crust and crispy, not gummy like some cauliflower crusts are. Salad was HUGE and yummy.Mario the owner was a delight! We spoke for sometime and will definitely be going back.
