At Ferrari's A'Roma Ristorante, it's all about great Italian food, attentive service and an atmosphere where you feel truly welcomed into our family. We are the Ferrari's; Joey, Anthony, Adriana, Josie and Luigi. Together, with our professional staff, w
Well it is Saturday afternoon 3:00 p.m. Our friends had open table reservations for two, and then immediately called A'Roma to make it for four of us. The gentleman on the phone said no problem, we can accommodate you. When we arrived at the hostess desk, there was only the open table for two, not four. The restaurant was already full, so the best she could offer was the bar. We did not want to, but really, what choice do you have at 6:00 p.m. on Saturday night in Orange County? The restaurant looked really nice, white table clothes, good cutlery and glassware. We felt defeated, but we were hungry. We sat in the bar with no tablecloth, but had really good service by bar, server and bus personnel. we ordered and appetizer of bruschetta and it was minus the umami factor, but nice toast and well seasoned topper. My friend, Brian, had the osso bucco loved it. My friend, Michele, had the Filet Mignon medallions in a lovely sauce. She upped the salad to Caesar which the waiter has said was a $2.00 charge and asked if she wanted anchovies with it. YES. So, in additional $2.50 for salad upgrade and $2.50 upgrade for 4 small anchovies. (WOW). My husband ordered the fra dilvolo shrimp and upgraded to soup for $2.50. I had the shrimp with fetticini and it was very forgettable. Nothing BAD, just nothing good. We rarely get around to more than sharing a dessert, but all of us felt we could eat more (unfulfilled). Two ice creams with expresso (fine), one cheesecake soufflé (good) and one crème brulee. grainy. We did order cocktails, two glasses of wine, and then another bottle with dinner. The waiter did take the cost of desserts off our bill, but just the whole scenario was flat from the beginning. I may try this place again, but not on a weekend, and not for a very long time. Mediocre delivered for supreme prices.

Franco's has a great menu, very good service and moderate prices. The choices are Italian but there are lots of them plus interesting specials. A small place but very friendly and welcoming. They do have a bar or you can bring your own wine

Marriâs is, for me, another gastronomic time machine, or perhaps more accurately, a sensory one. Just through the doorway the sensation hits by means of the intoxicating aroma wafting through from the kitchen. One whiff and Iâm hooked; and no matter how busy they may be, Iâm waiting.Service is enthusiastic, sometimes erring on the edge of overly so. Our first visit, we were approached no less than four times within a five minute period to see if we were ready to order. One of our party of three had left for the restroom, so no, we werenât ready. Mind you, this wasnât actually a problemâjust perhaps a bit overzealous. Worth noting for those who think: great! Fast service! Weâre in a hurry! Well, no. Not really. Things wonât be bouncing off your table in record time. Good food takes time. So once youâve placed your order, you can expect to wait.Hot wings here are mighty tasty, not to mention generously sized, tender and juicy. Fried mozzarella is crunchy and satisfying. For those wondering, a House Salad for Four seems about right portionwise. There were three of us, all pretty big eaters. We ordered the salad for four and had more than two servings apiece. Salad dressing comes to the table in bottle for diners to add as desired. Our first visit we ordered ravioli with meat sauce and cheese bread; both were good though not necessarily noteworthy. But I'm not writing this about any of those other dishes. It's the pizza where Marriâs excels. Ahhhhhhh, that pizza. Both visits we ordered a large sausage, mortadella and mushroom pizza. It arrived deceptively disguised as plain cheese with extra cheese. Underneath the blanket of cheese lay a treasure trove of lovely toppings, some of which actually fell out as I was eating. The sauce wasnât sweet (I prefer my sauce on the slightly tart end of the spectrum) and was in perfect proportion to the cheese. The sausage was some of the best Iâve ever had (of the crumbly, rather than dense variety.) This is a pizza best eaten by fork; itâs hearty, very filling, and utterly delicious. Just writing about it makes me want to eat it again. Go. Mangia.Marriâs is located in a strip mall on the corner of Stearns and Palo Verde. A lot serves all businesses on the block and space may be at a premium during peak hours. Thereâs additional street parking on Stearns. Marriâs is gloriously informal, a sawdust-floored throwback to the sixties with roomy booths in the back.

I've been to La Tavolata twice, both times while in the area on business. It's a small, cozy very inviting place. The fresh pasta is outstanding and, astonishingly, most pasta entrees are around $15. The salads are fresh and large and when we were discussing sharing a salad, the server offered to split it for us. I've had the spaghetti with the rich, hearty Bolognese sauce and a spaghetti with meatballs special (I adore good meatballs) and would happily have both again. As other reviews have mentioned, the toasted buttery garlic bread and the toasted bread with tomatoes and cheese are both killer. Service is warm and friendly and staff genuinely seem happy to be there. You can see cooks working the stove and preparing the plates towards the back of the restaurant. It does get crowded so go early or make a reservation.

Ordered a large Pepperoni and a medium cheese pizza at my daughter's house for home delivery. They easily met the estimate of 30 to 45 minutes for delivery. Pizza was slightly overcooked, but I thought it was pretty good. The grandkids enjoyed it as well.

After tasting great pastas during visits to Italy and New York, itâs gratifying to rediscover this unpretentious neighborhood restaurant that serves high caliber, authentic Italian food. It has now been expanded & remodeled to include a new bar and patio tables. The interior is vibrant and cheerful, with a color painting of an idyllic coastal village on an entire wall. Our friends brought a bottle of an excellent wine to kick off a nice evening (corkage $15!). The French onion pizza was done just right, sumptuous and satisfying. Our individual pasta creations (Alla Checca, Arrabbiata, and Basil Pesto) served with garden salads were nicely done and portioned. While the basil pesto sauce was richly creamy & flavorful, the linguine was a tad less al dente than I like. Prices of these creations with add-one ran around $20. Service was very attentive. We will definitely be back to try other dishes.
