Called them to order lunch for a business meeting, and they were able to accommodate a fairly large order at the last minute...several types of pizza and a couple of different salads were ordered, enough to give everyone what they wanted. Was ready pretty quick, at the promised time, and cost was very reasonable. Pizza is very good, and I most definitely will be back. Kind of in an out of the way location, but worth the effort to get there
3/21/13: the mrs. & i went there last saturday. i had turtle soup (very good), oysters appetizer (good), fried flounder & potato salad (very good) while the mrs. had eggpland & pasta with crawfish & shrimp sauce (very good). good soft drinks. italian cookies & other desserts available. neat and clean place. very good service. several couples, young and senior, came in to almost fill the tables. not a big restaurant. good prices. we plan on returning for sure. we liked it. fm+

We started off with the wait staff being attentive. I order was taken quickly and our drinks were delivered promptly. The food was just slightly slow to come. We enjoyed our meals and after that is when it all went to heck in a hand basket. A large group came in for a party in the back room. It appears that we then became second class citizens. It took forever to get a "to go" container. We asked our waiter for the bill and he then disappeared and we did not see him again. We had to stop another waiter and get him to get our bill. The party in the back starting playing what they considered "music" and it was so loud in the restaurant they we could hardly hear our selves think. The staff did nothing to make things better for people in the restaurant. This seems to be business as usual, as we heard a similar story from others after we left the restaurant. Considering that the management does not care about the people trying to have a good meal, I would not recommend anyone wasting their time with these people.
We were visiting the area and decided to try Theo's. This is one of several Theo's in the New Orleans area. The pizza's are upscale, and a little pricier than chain pizza shops. They offer a good selection of draught and bottled beers, including craft brews. We enjoyed a The Hippie vegetarian pizza and a couple draughts. Everything was delicious. We sat outside on the oversized side walk. The service was a bit slow, but this was perhaps it was busy on Saturday night. The inside was fairly crowded and loud, but that can change by the hour.Very enjoyable dinner. Recommended

Closed due to damage sustained in Hurricane Katrina.
Food was ok, service was pretty ordinary as in not very interested in making sure you had everything or needed anything else. Price was fair and decor was in need of something to distinguish what kind of restaurant they are.

and A friend of ours recommended this restaurant. We decided to give it a try. My wife and I both ordered individual pizzas and they were both delicious. The crust was thin and crisp and plenty of toppings. I would recommend this restaurant for casual dining.

I've been frequenting this establishment for over 30 years. I used to meet my wife there for lunch as a get away. Unfortunately their great pizzas didn't remain a secret for long. Never had a bad pizza there.

I went here and ordered the âCoolinary Three Course Dinnerâ consisting of an appetizer, entrée and desert. I also ordered a side of meatballs. My appetizer choice was mussels in garlic butter wine sauce; entrée: veal parmesan over fettuccine and desert: triple chocolate brownie ala mode. The mussels were a bit over cooked and the sauce needed to have the wine cooked out more; it was a bit too much alcohol flavor and I hardly noticed any butter garlic flavor. The veal parmesan and the pasta and sauce were mediocre; the sauce being a bit herby in taste, predominate in either oregano or thyme. The desert however was delicious. The brownie was moist on the inside and lightly crisp on the outside and edges. It was an unusually large portion for desert. The meatballs were firm and average in taste, kind of bland, though I could see seasoning in them. In my opinion, I thought the price for that dinner for that class of restaurant was slightly high. I hear, however, the pizza is exceptional.

We had the creamy italian and blue cheese vinaigrette on our salads and neither one was exceptional. Would not get again. Wife had parmesan crusted chicken and was not impressed. I had the chicken carbonara and was shocked to find that the chicken was not grilled but was a "breaded" cutlet. Was like chicken fried steak with cheese gravy. Would not recommend. For an Italian restaurant the bread basket was a complete disappointment. Junk bread with an onion flavored butter. Decor was 2 star anywhere else in the country but for NOLA I would give it 4 stars. Felt like you were a made man on Goodfellas.

Oak Oven is a locally owned restaurant serving fresh, homemade pastas and wood-fired pizzas. The ingredients are locally sourced and fresh. A variety of delicious desserts and appetizers, plus a full wine selection, complete the menu!
Six of us for dinner. Everything was delish. No pizza. The salads were fresh. There was a Caesar,Parmigiano, and Spinach salads that were a terrific way to start the meal. We had Veal Piccata, several orders of Beccafico, and Paneed Veal. Everyone was a member of the clean plate club and wanting more. These were plate licking entree's. Our service was extra special because of our server Mike. Mike was passionate about every selection on the menu. He was always on-the-spot and never over-bearing or intrusive. Wow, Oak Oven is lucky to have such an ambassador waiting table for them. Thanks for the wonderful review! We're thrilled you had a delicious meal and our employee will appreciate hearing you enjoyed great service.
