Iâm afraid I donât understand how there are so many 5 star reviews for this place. The staff were lovely but the food was average at best. Pasta was way overcooked and the sauce very basic, cheap chorizo cut too thickly, not enough seasoning - just no finesse at all. My children had pizzas which were ok but not great. All in all we couldnât fault the staff but our meal was pretty âmehâ and not cheap, so the bill was a stinger.

Dodds was recommended by our accommodation and did not disappoint. We were made very welcome and the staff were attentive and helpful. There is plenty of choice on the menu - I thoroughly enjoyed the grilled goats cheese (I had never imagined what a delight goats cheese can be when paired with caramelised pear) and home made potato gnocchi (which our waiter advised was his favourite and it quickly became mine too!). My husband thoroughly enjoyed his garlic bread and pizza - which was spicy and well flavoured. Unfortunately we were so full that we didn't have space for a pudding - perhaps next time!

Love the concept of this restaurant/theatre. The restaurant is well appointed and very pleasant surroundings. My meal was served on a very nice plate and I could see other meals served on a variety of other plates but I also saw that some meals were served on wooden boards - something I hate - but that's a personal choice I suppose. But with such a variety of plates it was hard to understand why serve on rather shabbily looking wooden boards. We finished off our meal with an ice cream sundae and I am afraid I found it rather overpriced for something that was ordinary at luxury prices.Staff were very welcoming, efficient and helpful. I have rated the restaurant average but it is somewhat unique and I would not want to deter people from visiting -but ask for a proper plate!Hi, thanks for your review.I am sorry you do not like wooden plates. It is very much a personal choice i guess and we have never had any feedback like yours. And they certainly are not 'shabby'.I am sorry you rated us as 'average' but again i guess that's a subjective thing.I hope you will visit us again.RegardsStan

This old chapel has been converted into a beautiful cafe/bistro with lots of original features.Larger dessert menu than any other places in the area we have eaten at, lovely food, great kids menu and staff attentive/friendly.They also take orders for take away pizza which I think is a great option to have if self catering in the village.

Visited this restaurant with my family after a hard days climbing for a satisfying pasta experience. The starter of soup and main of carbonara were amazing. Service was brilliant and the wine perfectly Italian. Nice touch that the Prosecco is served in small individual 200ml bottles. Really good value at £12.50 for a starter and main. Thoroughly recommend it!
