Giovanni's is now Al Dente (same ownership, we were told). In an area flooded with Italian restaurants, we found the food to be well above average (basic stuff, nothing fancy), the prices reasonable, and the service surprisingly good for a crowded Saturday night. Several reviewers complained that they don't accept credit cards, but they took ours with no argument at all, so I don't know what that's about. For a small, crowded place in a strip mall, they hold their own quite well against a lot of Italian competition. (The space next door is vacant, so perhaps they will consider enlarging...) BYOB.

Quality, fantastic service and a nice atmosphere all made our second visit as fantastic as the first. While four of us had been here already, including my Celiac son who loves their gluten free chicken parm, two additional friends joined us and loved it as well. From the attention to detail of the wait staff, to the unique homemade selections, you canât go wrong! Quality and consistency will definitely bring us back to La Riviera Trattoria soon.

What more do you need? I went there to celebrate my mother's birthday and I was pleasantly surprised by how nice the staff is and how delicious the food was. The menu is extensive, will surely please any craving. I ordered the skirt steak which was cooked to perfection and so flavorful! We all loved what we ordered and had plenty to take home. Will definitely go back. This is a BYOB. Special early bird is from 3:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. everyday, so that explains why the restaurant is not crowded after six. Give it a try. You will not be disappointed!

We had ordered pizza from Rose Pizza for a function with our Men's Association and the pizza was excellent. What a delicious sauce so full of rich flavor and spices that really make the pizza. It was well-cooked and even travelling three towns away, the pizza was piping hot and gooey just the way it should be. I have tried their pizza a long time ago and it is just as good then as now.We had ordered their Sicilian, plain, mushroom, sausage & peppers, pepperoni and each one was better than the other. They really do use the best ingredients in their pizza and it shows in the quality and taste. The Sicilian pie was a real stand out, perfectly cooked and had some bite to it. I am going to have to stop by again.

I was famished, on my way to Passaic and saw this place, driving by. It was packed, so I figured the locals liked it. Stopped in and got myself a slice of the vegetarian. The crust was crunchy and good, was topped with plenty of good stuff: eggplant, broccoli, garlic...and wasn't too heavy on the sauce or cheese. Really hit the spot. I saw a little sandwich on the menu, knowing I'd need something later, so I ordered the Grilled Chicken Avocado sandwich. It was the same basic price as the slice and boy was it good! The only thing I didn't like about it was that the bread was toasted - I'd rather be told that on the menu, as I would have requested it not be...but it was drippy, yummy and just the right amount - not some crazy, oversized gluttonous hoagie. I'll stop back in next time I'm in the 'hood.Thank you TelemarkJane for your add a review on Trip advisor. We appreciate it your business we love to hear feedback from everyone.

My husband wanted a steak dinner for our anniversary. He'd heard about Charlie Bloods-- it's been around a long time, but it's off the beaten path. We LIVED in Garfield, years ago, & never even heard about this place. It's a local bar with a restaurant in the back. Decor is like a theme restaurant (think TGI Fridays) only the REAL DEAL -- real saddles, cowboy boots, taxidermy done well (deer, goose, buffalo head, bear skin), pictures of John Wayne, classic 50's music, a wood-burning stove, dim lights (electric lanterns hanging off a wagon wheel)....eclectic. The food is Italian and American -- with specials in the $10 range. My husband had "The Duke" --a 24 oz ribeye. I had Eggplant Rollatine. My husband was happy, and I was so pleased with the Eggplant Rollatinen that it has become my new standard for all others to measure by -- crisply fried eggplant stuffed with plenty of ricotta, and a sweet, never acidic sauce (I've been back --it's always perfect!). The pizza served to another table looked great, and the calamari was good too. Try it and you'll want to come back, too. I can't wait to take my daughter, bring friends...we'll be back!

I requested a reservation online for a large family meal after an interment at Immaculate Conception Cemetery. Our family was flying in from all over the country. I was very impressed that the owner called me right away and confirmed the reservation after offering his condolences several times. Matthew explained that there would be another larger group plus open tables which was of no concern to us but it was nice that he fully explained the size of the restaurant. The younger adults and children established their own territory at the table leaving the elder statesmen to speak freely. The staff was polite, polished and very attentive without ever being intrusive. Most of the adults ordered seafood and the respective meals were fresh and extremely well prepared. My mom always loved restaurants like this and she would have been very pleased that we were all fortunate enough to find Matthews and share quality time together as a family....thank you Matthew.

Loved La Cambusa! On Sundays, they serve "Nonna's Sunday Dinner' which are platters of rigatoni pasta, meatballs, sausage, braciole and pork ribs (includes a house or Caesar salad also) for $22 per person. The "gravy" is outstanding, and the meats are absolutely, authentically delicious (we think the braciole had pignoli nuts and raisins in the filling). We shared a light, fluffy cannoli and some delicious tiramisu for dessert. We will definitely be returning to try some of the other dishes!

Iâve been traveling to NJ for business for 25 years. (I was just informed by just one local hotel that Iâve stayed 36 nights.) I discovered GoodFellas early on, and have been returning with fond regularity.GoodFellas is always a client favorite, and they assume with pleasure that I will make reservations there. We always leave pleased. The specials are indeed special; my colleagues had the stuffed double veal chop, and loved it. Me, I always choose the chicken saltimbocca - love it! The potato wedges were hot out of the oven... simple pleasures do go noticed. The wait staff stay regular, and are always helpful and professional. And, even though Iâm not a regular nor local, Sammy is always helpful and welcoming. My in-laws are Long Island Italians (my wife actually has an Italian passport), so Iâve been treated to a variety of great local spots. If you too want a great local spot, go out of your way for GoodFellas. Unfortunately, due to my pending retirement, this old did will miss this old favorite.(And oh... try the cannoli; youâre welcome.)

Good solid Italian food. Been going there for years. One of my favorites is sausage and pepper over ziti. Very family friendly and experienced and pleasant wait staff. Parking in front or across the street, but when it gets busy you may have to hunt for a parking spot. Highly recommended.Thank you for the great review! We are still a family run business for over 80 years!
