We enjoyed a nice supper of lasagne & pizza. Both were very tasty. The winelist is not extensive but it is good quality & very affordable wine from a well known cellar.The chocolate mousse was definitely different. Not the usual take on the dessert. Lucky we did order 4 pizzas telephonically and was warned that it will take more than 1 hour because they are so busy, and we still waited another 20 minutes after the hour. There are no other pizza place in Gansbaai, so there is no competition. The finer palettes in our party did not think much of the pizza, yet the kids devoured their very plain looking ones. The chilies on one of the pizzas were so over-powering spoiling it completely. Almost impossible to eat, we picked off the chilies and then it was just ok. We are used to authentic Italian pizzas so this is a bit of a let down but fine for kids and quick stop meal. Cannot comment on their pastas because we did not try any pasta dish.

We were advised by the our accommodation to give The Bistro a try. Our expectations were pretty low as it doesn't feature in any restaurant list of the area but what a happy surprise we had. The food was delicious and the prices were reasonable. My Queen Prawns were accompanied by generous sides and the starters of prawn meat and cheese and decadent french fries with cheese sauce and bacon bits were exactly that - decadent. Finishing off with a huge slice of fresh and moist chocolate cake sealed the evening.Please don't change a thing - its a great recipe for success you have there.
