Reviews on Italian food in Funchal, Madeira Islands, Portugal. Funchal, the capital of the Madeira archipelago, was declared a city in the 1500s, and became an important point between the old and new worlds. The laid-back city owes much of its historical prominence to "white gold," Madeiran sugar. Today Funchal is known for its appealing temperatures, wine and crafts. Top spots to visit include the open Worker's Market, Blandy's Wine Lodge and the Sacred Art Museum. Friendly locals, walkable streets and cheap taxis make the city easy to get around.

What a find (thanks to those who have reviewed it for the hint). Do all you can to visit. Wonderful and very thin crust pizza in a lovely, local place with super staff and away from the tourist trap that is much of Funchal. Dear guestItâs very nice to hear that you thoroughly enjoyed your visit, we try to make our restaurant very traditional even for tourists we always treat them in the same manner as our locals. We hope to see you soonPizaria atalaia team

We both started with the garlic mushrooms which were very fresh very nicely cooked and very garlicky which suited us. We both like very thin Pizza base so you arenât filled up by dough and that is what we got. They were also very nice. The wine was also very good and very good value for money. The service was also excellent. Thank you

We found La Pasta quite by accident while roaming about Funchal and decided to stop for a late lunch. We ended up going there 3 times in total and we found it the same on each visit, so they keep their standards consistently high. As well as good choice, great quality and excellent value, the lovely, friendly staff and good service make it an ideal spot for a relaxed, unhurried meal.Thank you very much for your opinion, we are very happy to know that your time here was a pleasant experience; That makes us work every day with greater effort to provide good service and quality food.
