Italian Fine Dining in Farmington NM - Do you believe it? It's true. And WE ARE OPEN!!!
I ordered the Fusilli Campagnola. My Great Grandfather emigrated to America from Oliveto Citra, CAMPAGNA, Italy. My wife and I visited our relatives there in 2015. At a meal for the extended family, one of the dishes served was Fusilli Campagnola. The meal served at Tratorria Bernardone was as good as the one served in Italy. I go to the restaurant about every two months to have that special dish. The proportion is good. The meal is well prepared and tasty.

Pizza 9 was just across the road from our hotel, so based on Tripadvisor we went there. Big mistake. While the people are nice and our pizza order was delivered promptly, that's where the good news ends, at least for us. We ordered the Deluxe minus green pepper. It didn't taste bad but it had no taste at all. We sampled the sausage and pepperoni by themselves and still there wasn't any flavor. My husband added red pepper flakes to his slices and that's all he could taste.Other reviewers have compared this to the best Chicago pizzas! Huh?? This doesn't favorably compare to Domino's.
Having lived in Napoli, I learned just how serious Italians, and more specifically, Neapolitans take their food. The Margharita pizza is the original pizza and is best found in Napoli. Of all the wonderful dishes I had, the Margharita was my favorite, and I am constantly on the search for a good one in the US. Unfortunately the Margharita I tasted here was dissappointing. Too much garlic, crust too thick, and it was covered with slices of tomatoes. A real Margharita should have crisp but chewy and thin crust, olive oil, a little garlic, tomatoes sauce, mozzarella, and piece of basil on top.The calzones and sandwhiches were outstanding.
