The staff was very friendly; we were provided with high chair for toddler and some toys for children when we were waiting for meal. The food was really enjoyable - excellent meats, great mushroom dishes, nice wine. The prices were medium-high, but reasonable, when value for money is taken into account.

The ristuarant Ai Nove Castelli is located in Faedis right at the road towards Povoletto. Outside seating is ok, however basically right on the road. Overall athmosspehre is fine.Food is good and has several local dishes. Portions are rather big, howver it is a little bid more of quantity than quality.Service of the owner couple was good

Friendly staff, nice garden. We enjoyed pizza and pastas; there were some nice local beers. Prices were really affordable.Great place for families with children - there's a lot of space in the garden and a fountain, so the kids aren't bored while waiting for meal.

"Frasca" means twig, and when the Friulan farmers wished to sell some of their produce, they hung a "frasca" out at the entrance (like we, Dutch, would wave a flag). Being true visitors of the nearby Villa Corèn (which serves as our annual winter retreat), my wife and I were very pleased that the hamlet of Siacco (near Povoletto) was enriched with a new restaurant that hung out it's frasca to lure us inside. And a good one. The menu is clearly oriented towards meat - the Italians have a rich tradition here. In fact, the offerings at Alla Frasca are able to compete with those of a good American steakhouse, and their use of local herbs and vegetables make it quite a different experience, though. It's also possible to order a vegetarian meal, but you should make sure with the cook then that he extends his choice of vegetables beyond the various types of radiccio that are abundant in this region. The wine list is simple but sufficient, mainly depending on the "Zorzettig" winemaker; Alla Frasca has a few beers on draught, and we were highly - and positively - surprised to find the Christmas seasonal variety of the Belgian Afflighem among then.

If you re hungry, and you look for an authentic friulan restaurant, don't hesitate! You won't be disappointed. Only wine of la casa and the owner announces what he can serve. Large plates! Very good homemade food! It is in a village where it is easy to park, it is in the middle of nowhere but reserve a table because it is often full! No special decoration , it is plain but it is authentic and good value. I recommend it.

We stayed for 3 days in May at the Agriturismo Petrigh. David and his wife Svetlana was such a great host. They made us feel at home. The room was spacious and clean. Quiet and comfortable. Food is soooooo good! Real Italian home cooking! Wine is magnificent! Everything was fresh. Despite the bad weather, it was a meaningful stay! We highly recommend this place. Will definitely come back when we can!

I must admit that finding a place to have good prosciutto from San Daniele outside of San Daniele is difficult. This prosciutteria does not only justice to San Daniele, but also offers more...like the tagliatelle al cinghiale (wild boar)...the tagliatelle are home made, the wine (refosco) is locally sourced, smooth, not pretentious, wonderful staff...One cannot go wrong trying this place out.2xBravi!

Un pranzo veramente ottimo antipasto abbondante di affettati come primo ha consigliato un bis tra tagliatelle e gnocchi di secondo grigliata mista per tutti. Dolci ha tanta scelta e tutti buoni. Consiglio di fermarsi

I recently had a lengthy, leisurely lunch at Le Cucagne Agriturismo, located in the hills of Faedis. The restaurant isn't easy to find and you must traverse a small stretch of dirt road before arriving. From the exterior, Le Cucagne looks to be a farm house nestled among the local vineyards. The interior is warmly decorated with a country/rustic motif. Terracotta floors and an inviting fireplace provided atmosphere and seating was spacious and plentiful. Tables were topped with paper tablecloths and napkins and service ware (plates, utensils, glasses) was what you would expect at an agriturismo. A TripAdvisor sign was prominently posted at the entrance. Outdoor dining on a terrace is available for warm weather days.Le Cucagne features typical Friulano cuisine, all prepared in a home-cooked manner. Service is family-style in that the waitresses walk around with serving platters and plate dishes that way. Service was very friendly, accommodating and attentive. The portions were very generous and if you are up for more food, seconds were available. An endless flow of bottled Refosco red wine also topped the tables. My antipasto starter was comprised of an assorted plate of cured meats (prosciutto, salami, pancetta), a creamy mushroom mousse, and polenta chips. This was followed by three types of dishes for the pasta course; a spinach filled crepe topped with Bechamel sauce; Risotto with Sausage and Apples and Gnocchi made with pumpkin. All were very tasty. For an entree, I had the rolled pork escallop, filled with speck (cured smoked meat) and radicchio, topped with a wine-based gravy and accompanied with a hearty portion of polenta. I found the meat to be a little overcooked and tough to chew, though it had a nice flavor. As I was a guest, I don't know how the prices were. Normally, agriturismo dining is very reasonable. If you are looking for a relaxed day in the countryside, Le Cucagne might be just the right place.
