Discover Restaurants offering the best Italian food in Edinburgh, Scotland, United Kingdom. Edinburgh’s neighborhoods developed as the city did. Originally its heart lay in the alleys and cobbled streets of the Old Town, below the castle. Then, in the late-18th century, the residential focus shifted north to a huge planned Georgian New Town. That’s now become the city’s business center, while visitor attractions and nightlife have become fairly evenly shared between these two central districts. Around them, a ring of residential districts now house most of those living in central Edinburgh. Though less good for sightseeing, these neighborhoods are just as busy and typified by thriving restaurant scenes and large parks.

Edinburgh's finest Italian Restaurant Wine Bar, Divino Enoteca is a hidden gem in the heart of Edinburgh's old town yet only minutes from the bustle of the city. The archetypal wine cellar married with Italian 'chic', Divino is charming and elegant, with
The restaurant had been so highly recommended that my husband believes we went to the wrong restaurant. It is beautiful, the service, wine and ambiance are excellent, but all that was overshadowed by the extreme dreadfulness of our main course. The meat was of inexcusably bad quality, unchewable and tasteless, and the whole dish was devoid of flavour. The prices are appropriate for food of very high quality. It was not acceptable for the dreadful stuff we got. The food is, after all, the primary reason for visiting a restaurant. We are very sorry that you did not wholly enjoy your experience. We strive to create the freshest food and provide great service. We are in the business of creating wonderful memories and great food experiences and are disappointed that we did not meet your full approval. We hope that you will indeed come back and try us again.

Do yourself a favour and come to enjoy the best pizza in town and the lovely Maria . As someone who works in hospitality I know a good waitress when I see one. Friendly, efficient, fast and our late entrance to the restaurant did not seem as an inconvenience. Best service we had in a long time. La favorita is very lucky to have her.Thank youThank you for your great review and we hope to see you again soon!

Lunch with friends; great food and fantastic value. Obviously very popular with locals, who popped in for take- aways, as well as meals.Basic decor / seating: a great place for a nice lunch but not the place for a fancy meal.Seating rather uncomfortable for anybody with mobility / disabilty issues, but staff very friendly and accomodating.Excellent for veggies; not so good for meat eaters! Highly recommended. Lovely place.

Isola is specialize in regional Sardinian and Mediterranean cuisine.
We randomly chose this restaurant after walking by it from our B&B into town and what a delightful experience! Service was excellent, prices were reasonable and our meals were excellent. Nice atmosphere inside as well. I especially enjoyed the pear and ricotta ravioli. Highly recommended.

A unique way to eat pizza with their subway style ordering system. You could pick and choose how you wanted your pizza and it only took 90 seconds to cook which was fab. Pizza was fresh and tasty.Only concern was they didnât change their gloves after putting the egg yolk on my pizza - they scooped it out with their gloved hands and then proceeded to finish my friends pizza by adding toppings with the same gloves - so not the best for someone who has an allergy. Other than that we canât fault it. Thank you for your reviewWe pride ourselves on allergen awareness and segregation have processes in place to change gloves between areas. It is very useful that you pointed this issue out as we can feedback and retrain

Stockbridge might be off the beaten track for some people in Edinburgh, but a visit to Radicibus is more than worth it. The complimentary pre starter was an explosion of wonderful flavours. The bucatini alla amatriciana was perfect - freshly made pasta, rich tomato sauce and melt in mouth pigâs cheeks. Even the biscuit in the tiramisu are home made. Giovanni exudes passion about the food and the service is warm and informative.

Southern Italian using the very best of Italian and local Scottish produce.
We visited here when fringe was on but staff were pleasant and food was exceptional! Such a friendly atmosphere, and for the time we were in they turned away 13 parties who hadnât booked. Special shout out to Eleanor who guided us to the fish platter which did not disappoint. Wish we lived nearer but cannot recommend highly enough!

Expect to encounter a multi-sensory experience; visual, textual, taste. Simplistic and natural interiors, complementing the effortless and fresh cuisine that follows the roots of culinary principles in Italy: excellent quality ingredients, honest cooking
Great restaurant, hard to find, well there we were surprised by a lovely Prosecco, three amuse bouches, starters like grouse or ravioli with truffles (generous) followed by mains, venison with hazelnut or guineafowl. Interesting but short winelist. Dessert was a divine nutella accompamied by an icecold expressomartini. All in all was this a great experience and in my humble opinion they deserve one star in The Michelin Guide. When the bill came I was surprised, prepared to pay at least 100£ more than I had to!

One20 is a new wine cafe located at 120 Dundas Street. Perfect for that leisurely coffee, glass of good wine, together with our offer of informal light dining. As well as in the evenings, we are now open for breakfast, brunch and lunch !
Both Italians, we went to One20 for a glass of (very good) wine and ended up having dinner. The atmosphere is lovely, the decor, lights and music are very well selected. The attention to details is extraordinary. But the best part is the selection of wines and gourmet menu. It made us almost cry, reminding us of our country and how tasty Italian's ingredients can be. We had the cheese platter and the burrata, both so simple and fantastic. And all the wines we tried were amazing. We had the macarons for dessert and they were by far the best macarons we had in Edinburgh! Also the owner and staff members were incredibly kind and helpful.Definitely going back soon.
