I have never in my life heard of cornbread pizza. So when a friend who drives about 25 miles one-way told me that it is the best pizza in town, I had to try it out. For starters I ordered the "split pizza" where they sell you one slice that is cut in half. That with the Pasta Putanesca was more than the two of could eat. I hate having food left over that I have to put in the refrigerator. The staff was efficient and really went out of their way to explain the "gluten-free" concept and made recommendations on what food to order. It was a fun experience.

If we could eat here every day, we would, but we need to keep some good things in life as rare eats to help heal the bad days which get healed from eating Mundial's miracle cures. The vegetarian options are plentiful. Pastas cooled al dente, and the hummus bread is a nice touch, and service is superb. Quality food and service here. A+++

Old Town Pizza is located right across the street from Monrovia's Library Park where my astronomy club sets up telescopes once a month. The moon does sometimes remind me of a half or whole pizza pie, and we are ravenous after a few hours showing people the moon through our telescopes. When we are packed up, I walk across the street and order two pizzas, one Old Town Special $19.99 (pepperoni, canadian bacon, real bacon bits, green peppers, onions) and Hawaiian (ham and pineaple) Medium $15.99 or large $17.99). The large garden salad for 2 ($4.99) is enough for about 5 people to have a nice serving of salad. We all drive to our house, one mile away, open some wine and soft drinks, and share the pizza. About $40 for pizza & salad for 6-10 people. That's a real bargain! We also order pizza delivered quite often, when returning from a trip. Hours 11-9 S-Th, till 11 Friday, and 10 Saturday
This restaurant is quickly becoming one of my wife and my favorite Italian restaurants. It's a family owned, with the entire family operating the restaurant. The father is running the front of the house, the momma is all over the place and one son is the chef. The food and atmosphere is very authentic. Each dish is prepared with the utmost care and shows the love that the chef and family put into the food and the running of this place. The food is not quick prep, throw it together type of dishes. The sauces are all made to order and each has a bit of the chef's unique flair - last night there was a beef rigatoni special that sounded strange in that it was finished with a bit of cocoa powder. I didn't have it but several tables had and I can tell everyone enjoyed it. I've had a salmon pizza that was very good (but it's not on the menu anymore?) and last night I had the octopus Puttanesca special - very good. Again, a little unique in that it had small diced potatoes in it. My wife had the Spaghetti Bolognese which was very good and my wife makes one of the best bolognese sauces anywhere (I still think hers is the best but this was very good). My son had the Chicken Parm and it was very good - some places, it's a soggy mess but this was not and had a ton of favor, not overwhelmed by the tomato sauce - again, a little unique in that it was served with mashed potato. How authentic is it? Well, I witnessed a few people come in and order in Italian and the family sits down to talk to them all in Italian. One time, a momma ordered everything in Italian without looking at the menu while she was taking to the chef, telling him how she wanted her meal to be prepared. It's a little place with amazing hospitality and everyone is greeted with enthusiasm and love. Prices are very reasonable. The location is a little funky - it's in a shopping strip with Target. My only complaint is that I wish that the portions were just a little bigger. However, we'll be regulars and will continue to support them.Benissimo!

Its like homemade pizza from your oven, the dough is fresh and the cheese and sauce amazing, and they deliver too.

We just love this restaurant. The Italian food is extraordinarily good. They make their own pasta too. This time was a bit of a disappointment because the waitress was just not very good. She was hired because she is a beautiful blonde with a great personality. However, she forgot to bring the wine. She also forgot the pasta type we ordered. Unfortunately sheâs asleep on her job. Hopefully theyâll hire better people because the food is really good.
